  • Wonder how Newcastle feel about the Saudis trading Nunez for Isak with Liverpool and Newcastle seeming like an afterthought.
I wondered that.  Its like how Saudi buy most of Chelsea's cast offs at top dollar then you realise who funds Todd Boely's consortium.
  • Newcastle's summer window is starting to look like a bit of a disaster. Missed out on basically every striker they've targeted and still have to sort the Isak situation out. Think there's a hole in their midfield too that they need to sort out too.

Did see them linked to Nicholas Jackson this morning which would surprise me if they've got that desperate.
  • Jackson is a much better player than his reputation lets on. Hit double figures of goals in the PL 2 seasons running, 43 goals in 3 seasons in all comps and 17 assists in that time too. If he can be coached to stay onside a bit more and improve his finishing a tad he will be a top top player and Howe is known for being a good coach. I think it would be a good move for all parties

If Newcastle had any sense a couple of weeks ago they would've just accepted that Isak wants to leave, told Liverpool, 'ok he's yours for 135m' and then just bought Ekitike as his replacement. If Liverpool had bought Isak there's no way they'd have gone for Ekitike as well.

Now they can't buy anyone and are also left with a striker who doesn't want to be there.

And a price of £100m quoted by Chelsea.
  • Maddison confirmed torn ACL and will have surgery.  Thats 6-9 months out then at best.   Spurs desperately need a no.10.
  • Surely Spurs have to ask about Grealish

The season would be over by the time Levy agrees how much of his wages Spurs are prepared to pay.
  • Liverpool selling Nunez to Saudi. They are going to get Isak I think.

  • Burnley have signed Dubravka from Newcastle, presumably to replace Trafford as the no 1. Quite a downgrade. They’re my favourites to finish 20th this season

With relegation in mind, having lost Norgaard and Mbuemo, if Wissa were to go too Brentford would really be in trouble. It's the goal of Mbuemo and Wissa and prior to that Toney that has kept them in the division.

Bournemouth appear to be selling most of their defensive players from last season - Huijsen and Kerkez have gone and it looks like Zabanyi is off to PSG.

Crazy to think 3 of Bournemouths back four last year will have gone to Liverpool, PSG and Real Madrid in one window.

    Liverpool are happy.
    Saudis are happy.

Newcastle? Who cares. Certainly not the owners.
  • Man Utd agree near 78m fee for Sesko. I've absolutely no idea who he is but he can't be any good because Chelsea value Jackson at 100m and he's crap.
  • Sesko feels like Hojlund mk2, paying a price that should get you a top quality striker for a youngster with potential in the hope he improves.

He might do, but definitely feels like they are overpaying.

Also feel like they should loan Hojlund out rather than selling - his stock is really low at the moment whereas if he goes to Italy and scores a few they might get more next summer.  Understand PSR etc probably means they want the money in now though.

He's the player ManUre hoped Hojlund would be. Knowing them they'll ruin him too

The player Arsenal were deciding between him and Gyokeres as their striker signing.

Believe Edu preferred Sesko because he's younger but is more of a project. New guy Berta came in and preferred Gyokeres.

United I imagine piggy backed the Arsenal negotiations by already understanding the personal terms and transfer fee thanks to their help.

I’ve said a number of times in the last couple of years that Jackson is shite. Particularly the season before last when he looked like he didn’t understand the offside rule.
But to be honest, there were signs last season that he improved and can improve more and I think there’s a potentially very good player in there if he can just stop believing he’s the second coming of christ, get his head down and work hard on his game.
(I hope I’m wrong though, because, well, it’s Chelsea and I’d love everyone who plays for them to turn out to be absolute toilet. Shithouse scumbag club.)

Having said all that. £100m? Jesus wept. The world’s gone mad.
  • £78m for a 13 goal a season striker is a massive gamble.

  • Grealish going to Everton. Very good signing for them and if he rediscovers his Villa form, will be a lock for Tuchel's world cup squad.

    And Kepa went to Arsenal.

I don’t think he will be . Gordon, Gittens, Madueke, Foden, potentially Rashford all playing champions league football and can play left side.
  • Bournemouth I'm struggling to figure out how they'll do. That's a lot of losses on the backline to contend with in one window. I really like Iraola and his playing style though.

I get the Champions League aspect, but I'd say Grealish is better than all of those others mentioned.
As for Turkel, he puts Hederson in the squad.
    Christ on a bike...
  • If Grealish is desperate to get back in the England squad for next summer, Everton could have a great signing.

And a motivated (and fit) Grealish given freedom to do his stuff is the sort of player fans love to watch.
  • I don’t get the Grealish hype. Just runs slowly, stops, doubles back and hopefully draws a foul.

Spurs talking to City about Savinho.
  • Once Sunderland complete their latest signing, the three promoted clubs will have spent over £300m on players:

    Sunderland £122m on 10 signings
    Burnley @£100m on 13 signings
    Leeds £73.5m on 7 signings

    Mad!
