Absolute lung busting run to get on the end of that.

I'm telling you, if he continues to develop at anything like this rate, he'll be a star next season
Such an over the top comment 🤣 he is still not close to league 1 level let alone championship

Did you miss the bit about continuing to develop?

In 12 months he's gone from playing in the Jamaican league to scoring goals for fun in a competitive under 21 league, making his debut in English football and starting, and scoring for, his national team against a Nigeria side with quite a few big names in it.

Watching back that game, I was more impressed by Renaldo Cephas.

    That lad looked lightning quick

Currently playing in the Turkish second division so could easily be a target. Came from the same Arnett Gardens side as Dixon but went to Macedonia and now Turkey.

Only 25 as well. I thought he would be playing a higher level based on what I saw.

Might have been his one and only good game though for all I know 😂

Does he have sufficient caps for the work permit not to be an issue?

12 caps , I'd have to do some reading up on if the rules change for the championship in terms of what's required.

You can have a certain number of players who don’t qualify anyway, Dixon might count as one but we’d have space for more

Yeah, believe we can have 4 in the Championship, compared to 2 in L1.

Short interview with Dixon on Sky Sports News. He turned up for Jamaica squad wearing full Charlton kit and Play Off winners medal 😂
Above all he's a fan of the club
Im assuming not in the literal sense? Not buying that a kid grew up in Jamaica watching Chatlton vs Mansfield Town
It was Mansfield Town vs Charlton......

Dixon got 5 minutes as a late sub as Jamaica opened their Gold Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat to the footballing giants of Guatemala. The game also saw the return to action of Michail Antonio, his first minutes since his car crash.

    Campbell was an unused sub.
  • Where does Kaheim go from here? Do we loan him out? Is he fighting for a space on the bench? What are people’s thoughts?

After he didn’t feature in the last few friendly squads I have begun to doubt he is in NJ’s plans

Would expect him to feature against Stevenage and then go out on loan until Jan. Think there's no real point in him playing U21s football with us and a loan would be the best thing for him

Would expect him to continue learning his trade playing for under 23 .. with perhaps a loan move in January

I would be looking at a loan for him until January, at a good footballing league 1 side

This would be my preferred route , send him somewhere where he's going to get minutes in a side that will use his strengths.

Wonder if this is the route we'll take, keep him around until January, maybe utilise him against Stevenage, and in the Second Round... IF we get there... and then loan him out for the second half of the season.

For all the fan hatred, the likes of Dixon, Mwamba, Fullah etc. could really do with having the option of U21 Football for us until January, whilst playing in the EFL Trophy.

Said it when he signed that I’ll be amazed if we ever see him in any meaningful way. How long has  he been with us now ? We keep hearing he’s so talented and I think he probably is. He’s an international but can’t get a look in, in league one and it’s even less likely now. I think he warented a few bench places last season particularly when we were struggling. I think Jones doesn’t see him as part of his plans or fancy him at all.

Except that isn’t an option. The only potential senior football they’ll get is against Stevenage and I think NJ will use that to keep fitness up of senior fringe players with little cameos from the above. A loan will suit some of them, Dixon being the stand out

I think he's a real talent but needs football.  A league 1 loan would be good for his development.

If we hadn't got promoted, I think he would've been a first teamer for us this season

Maybe he's just taking time to settle. He moved to a different continent at age 19, new weather, pitches, surroundings... Not to mention a different standard of football with the added fitness requirements. I'm not sure what the Jamaican leagues are like (will have to ask my Mount Pleasant supporting mate, Charlie) but I would imagine he's having to learn a lot. Being thrown into a physical league like L1 last season probably wasn't on the cards.

Dixon was a Methven import in the same way that Schwartz was a Sandgaard import.

Great move for him. Keeps him local and the right step up from U21 football for him.
  • Don’t hate that, keeps him close enough to the training ground so they can have a look at him and also Crawley have a good manager

A season in League Two will be a good test for him playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday

Get his stamina up and regular game time

Exactly what he needs, hopefully he gets plenty of game time. Should score goals at that level if he does, and that would help him get a loan at a higher level or move into our first team squad.
