My issue isn't necessarily with his comments, more the know it all negativity. We've had an unbelievable window, arguably as good as it could have been, but he and a few others will still find a reason to be fucking negative, and deliver it all in a 'I know more than you' tone that really fucks me off.
He's a boring know it all who consistently brings negativity to a conversation and has hilariously been proved wrong on many occasions, sometimes almost instantly (Leaburn scoring twice immediately after he announced 'he's poor, won't score again this year' or something along those lines).
His takes are shite, he's a boring negative melt and I'm going to continue to call him out for it. Even if I'm called Twatish.

The owners have done their job in opening the purse strings. It now comes down to Jones and the recruitment team to see how well they did in talent evaluation. There is always going to be uncertainties when recruiting in a promotion year. Jones has made some clear mistakes in recruiting the last couple years and also have made some shrewd signings. You would figure that the same will be said about this years incoming class but let’s hope the sum of the positives outweigh the negatives. My biggest concern is at the forward position. Historically there are a lot of examples of strikers scoring in League one and then struggling in the championship. It seems the step up at that position is higher than other positions so I have some questions on Kelman and Tanto.4

We had to sign Jensen and Johansson (and Kiely the year before) to make us comfortably mid table . That was about 9 million and 25 years ago. Based on the pre-season friendlies, I do think that we know have a team that can compete in the Championship and we’ve now completely removed the shackles from that horrible third division. However, it might take some time for the players to gel together and zoom up the league table. Get ready for another promotion to the Premier!

Totally agree. The club has been way above expectations in recruitment. We have a very decent chance of cutting it. I’m still expecting a looking over our shoulder season though.TheHerminator said:

The issue for me is not our squad at all. We still have nearly the entire promotion winning team together (albeit they won't all start) and the additions we have made all very much fit the mould of "Jones players" - we've done everything we could hope to do to give us as good a chance as possible.Garrymanilow said:

Some of their players were signed when they were in L1 or L2 but they were the right players for the style of play and they were Premier League footballers by the next season. Kaminski was signed specifically to be a Premier League keeper for Luton. The main thrust of our recruitment has been to pick off the better league one players which I think you’ll agree was the way to go. We’ve supplemented that with some older experienced Championship players who in my humble opinion with the exception of Kaminski arnt names that would blow anyone’s socks off. Sound but probably not any better than those found in any Championship squad we’ll face. We need both sides of that equation to work and there’s probably more risk of that blowing up with the “exciting “ signings from league one, than the steady Eddie older payers. It’s absolutely terrific that for the first time in years we’ve actually gone and spent some decent money and we should enjoy it but I think a lot of people are getting carried away. This squad has if all works out given us a fighting chance of survival. For me that’s about it. The two teams who came up with us are a bit of a freak occurrence though. The team that used FFP loopholes to build a Championship team in L1 (which we still beat at home) and the daft Disney team who pay over the odds for some strange players. It's unfortunate but equally we've got a Sheffield Wednesday team who are currently circling the drain and a Hull side with a 3 window transfer ban which sort of levels things out in that respect. What's interesting is the fans of teams around us who are getting a bit hot under the collar about our signings. Oxford, Preston, Pompey, Derby, all these sorts of teams are pretty horrified and if you look at their transfers they haven't brought too many in. I agree, staying up is enough but I think we've done enough to have some teams seriously looking over their shoulders at us. A good start for us and I think there will be some real fear in them.thenewbie said:

He might well be naturally more pessimistic than most, sometimes he is proven to be right, most of the time it's not, but I don't remember seeing him come on here to call out another poster in the tone that you have.
He has said this has been a great window, he naturally wants us to do well, but he also naturally leans towards the side of caution and pessimism at times, and I think that is okay too. It brings balance and actual debate to the forum without being offensive.
If his posts and the tone he uses 'really fucks you off', it's not difficult to just scroll passed them and don't read it. I do it with loads of posts most of the time, it's not worth getting hung up about it.37 -

We were never going to sign proven players who were regulars last season for Championship clubs (aside from those relegated), they would be well out of our price range. What we’ve done should mean we compete and have a chance of staying up as a bare minimum, but if enough settle well and make the step up, we could finish higher.5 -

My issue isn't necessarily with his comments, more the know it all negativity. We've had an unbelievable window, arguably as good as it could have been, but he and a few others will still find a reason to be fucking negative, and deliver it all in a 'I know more than you' tone that really fucks me off.
He's a boring know it all who consistently brings negativity to a conversation and has hilariously been proved wrong on many occasions, sometimes almost instantly (Leaburn scoring twice immediately after he announced 'he's poor, won't score again this year' or something along those lines).
His takes are shite, he's a boring negative melt and I'm going to continue to call him out for it. Even if I'm called Twatish.

He might well be naturally more pessimistic than most, sometimes he is proven to be right, most of the time it's not, but I don't remember seeing him come on here to call out another poster in the tone that you have.
He has said this has been a great window, he naturally wants us to do well, but he also naturally leans towards the side of caution and pessimism at times, and I think that is okay too. It brings balance and actual debate to the forum without being offensive.
If his posts and the tone he uses 'really fucks you off', it's not difficult to just scroll passed them and don't read it. I do it with loads of posts most of the time, it's not worth getting hung up about it.2 -
