They always do. It's why the standing umpire went to the square leg umpire before referring it. He cannot give the batter out without reviewing it. Checking whether he hit it is an afterthought. That is standard protocol. India still have a review and there is no doubt whatsoever that they would have reviewed that even if it had been given "not out" initially.Pelling1993 said:
