Without getting too far ahead of ourselves
It seems for some time Our Wonderful club is now moving in the right direction
We know we have been in the wilderness for too many yrs
Yet we have kept the faith and finally we have Owners with Ambition and who clearly have a vision and plan to take us Upwards
Many thanks to Gavin Carter and our American friends from across the Pond
Live Love Laugh and be Happy

Reckon the first twenty creeps, I mean peeps, to kiss the Owners' butts, I mean thank them publicly, should get a free pint on the 9th.

When was the last time we signed this many players for a fee in a single window, undisclosed or otherwise? It's clear money has been spent.valleynick66 said:Loving the confidence on fees paid when everything is ‘undisclosed’.5 -
Yeah cos players like Knibbs and Kelman can be bought for a pittance! 🙄valleynick66 said:Loving the confidence on fees paid when everything is ‘undisclosed’.5 -
Yes of course. No dispute there.Gillis said:

A lovely post @raytreacy69.
What's also really pleasing is the off field structure and investment in the whole club, prior to the squad, which we are now seeing. The foundations have been reset and fortified for many years of success.
It feels so good to feel so much pride in our club again. UTA!!!3 -

Then explain it please in the context of everyone here quoting figures with apparent reasonable accuracy?Henry Irving said:

You don't get it.It’s not a comment on our owners but a comment on the practice. Admittedly I have gone off on a tangent.1 -
Great post Ray and it sums it up perfectly for me 👍🏻1

Unlike 2019 and 2012, we appear to have spent the extra central revenue on squad strengthening. Obviously there are extra salary costs and ticket/commercial revenue too.19 -
This. It may not work out but we have done so much more in this transfer window than we ever expected.superdulvertonred said:Well no one can complain about the lack of ambition or money spent this window. If you are after players, why disclose the sums involved, it just incentives for clubs to ask for more if they think you have money sloshing about. it's all about the deal and it seems we have done quite well for a change.2

Yes. But why are so many on here so quite clear on what we’ve paid?red10 said:If you are after players, why disclose the sums involved, it just incentives for clubs to ask for more if they think you have money sloshing about. it's all about the deal and it seems we have done quite well for a change. That’s my point ie not a secret.0 -
Not sure on how they get their information or how public this information is, just seems prudent to keep your cards close to your chest imho.0

Yes I agree except we seem to have very strong opinions on here that we know how much we have paid and in which case the ‘prudent’ approach seems redundant.red10 said:Not sure on how they get their information or how public this information is, just seems prudent to keep your cards close to your chest imho.0 -

Lovely original post if we can get back to it.Thank you to the owners & I hope the fans back you.5 -
I think its quite obvious, even without quoted fees, that we have money 'sloshing about'. But we won't be taken for mugs... as seems to have been proved by the Knibbs signing. Clearly nothing to do with him failing a medical... Reading upped the price/add ons. We either agreed, or more likely said take it or leave it.red10 said:If you are after players, why disclose the sums involved, it just incentives for clubs to ask for more if they think you have money sloshing about. it's all about the deal and it seems we have done quite well for a change.0 -
Our spending has exceeded my expectations but NJ said after Wembley we were not just going into the Championship to make up the numbers and our recruitment has proved that. No point just standing still. I think we will do better than many expect. But yes, thank you to the owners for digging deep and trusting NJ and supporting him.4

And more important they are all on long term contracts, impressive

The club after years of ownership issues now have owners with serious ambition with importantly the funds to match. A perfect combination. Thank you Friedman, Brener and Co 👏1

Signing exciting young players for hefty fees and giving long contracts
extending our own youth players contracts before they break through to the first team
completing business early
extending Jones contract for a further 5 years
giving the valley an facelift
Just this summer alone has put them above any ownership since the premier league years in my eyes,
''ain't no better time to be a charlton fan''
