Here is a bit more about our panel:
Rich Cawley – South London Sport via Substack
Until the South London Press closed-down, Rich Cawley was maybe blissfully unaware how important his writing was to your average Addicks’ mental health. Thank goodness he’s back. When it comes to what’s really going on in the training ground or in the boardroom, rumours are just rumours until Cawley confirms. No one covers more Charlton than Rich.
Daniel Storey – Author and Chief Football Writer The i-newsaper
Daniel has just completed a tour and review of the full 92 grounds including The Valley. Arguably there is no better person to give us the latest on what to expect on the new season’s awaydays. There are a few grounds we haven’t been to recently. You can read all of Daniel's work, and his project for the 2025-26 season, on TheiPaper.com .
Ben Ransom Sky Sports Reporter
As a broadcast journalist, Ben is of course required to be informed and balanced in his coverage of the Premier League and EFL. However, Ben is an Addick. So, let’s hear it. What does he really think? What are the broadcast pundits going to be on the lookout for from us this season and if a bit of bias might just sneak out at any point, when?

An excellent, insightful listen/watch. Thanks to everyone who put it together. Great to hear from Rich and Ben but I was particularly happy to hear from Daniel Storey. Always enjoy him on whatever podcast he pops up on and it was good to listen to an ‘outsider’s’ view on us and our prospects.7

Sorry was unable to make tonight, will this be available on catch up?3

Ben Ransom made a valiant attempt at defending Sky, his employers, over the changes to fixture times...3

And the money men always call the shots.
I wish it wasn't so, but it is the reality of modern day football.
I really enjoyed the webinar.
Thank you to everyone involved in putting it together.

That was really excellent. Three really compelling guests, nicely matched up, and a very well organised format, much more difficult than it looks to pull off, I'm sure. Hats off to all involved.
Daniel Storey has been completely off my radar, I will definitely be looking out for his work. He made a very important point, that, basically, if as we mostly expect, we finish around 16th or lower, we will lose more than we win, maybe 20 losses, a month without a win. Nathan will be under pressure, and so will we be to keep our perspective.14 -

Pressure can always be applied for change. Sky also operate in Germany and the German fans got Monday night Sky football abolished. They did that by cutting across tribal club lines and working together. Also, back in our FAPL days, but before Charlton Life, a group of four of us with advertising industry knowledge put together a document and delivered it to the FAPL showing that Sky were not covering us in line with our team performance and Sky viewing figures. Despite it being delivered anonymously and out of the blue, the FAPL and Sky accepted our analysis, and the result was £1m more in TV money from Sky. It's a different issue to KO times but another example that shows that the money men may call the shots, but they might take cover and think again if they come under well-aimed return fire.
The nonsense in the current contract about restrictions on club streams like Charlton TV is a good target...3 -

It was an excellent 90 minutes hearing three professional Journalists who support Charlton, Fulham and Forest give their ITK views on Charlton and football in general.
Many thanks to CAST with Heather, Bob and I believe Alex for putting the questions to Daniel Storey who writes for my paper of choice the i. Ben Ransom our sun burnt Charlton fan who works for Sky and Rich Cawley our local journo for so many years before going substack.
It all went smoothly on the technical front and it made a change to feel relaxed over 90 minutes regarding CAFC !

Really enjoyable webinar, thank you. To have three journalists was a very interesting perspective to hear from. Daniel Storey was a great choice to provide important balance from a neutral but Championship focussed viewpoint.0

Where the Sky fixture shifts get ridiculous, is with lower league "contractual obligation" Sky+ games of no interest to the neutral, also being shifted, with the clubs getting peanuts.
Leicester vs Sheffield United at 12:30pm will attract an audience, and Championship clubs are well compensated. But then at the same time on Sky+ you'll also have Exeter vs Wycombe and Accrington vs Swindon, which will get tiny audiences.1 -
