    Surprised to see Kanu getting minutes if he's moving on a season loan! Am sure there's a plan in place, as that's NJ's speciality.

    What... You think that they need a full on match to get used to each other.

    That can also be done on the training pitch

    I'd still rather focus on minutes in the legs right up until Watford, than telegraphing our best eleven

    Would be fun to see a Kelman and Leaburn strike pairing even if it's half an hour.

    Completely agree with what has been said above,  Would’ve hoped by now we would have started playing a team which would resemble what we might start against Watford,  given the nature of the opponents we are playing. Southend will tell us absolutely nothing

    A shame that Mannion, Godden, Berry and Burke (45mins aside) will have missed all our pre-season friendlies. Hopefully we can get an update from @richcawleySLP.

    Can we confuse everyone & go back with Al-Hamadi and leave them Ahadme 😄. 

    Shame Berry & Godden are not "match fit" enough to still not take any part in these games. They will be behind everyone else in regards to making the 20 man squad on the 9th & not likely to see them for a few weeks later.

    Yeah. He’s wearing a mask so those there can’t tell it’s him.

    It was then pointed out they’d know it’s him as he’d be the only one wearing a mask. So now the entire squad are wearing masks.

    If we were waiting and relying on a pre season friendly 10 days before the season starts to tell us how good we are or aren’t we would probably be screwed anyway…

    Some people forgetting it's not just a bout match fitness to the starting XI.

    NJ plays 'game finishers' and they need to be match fit also.

    20 man squad. All of them need to be match ready.

    I'd put Gillesphey in for Bell, and Olaofe in for Kelman or TC come Watford at the moment.

    MAYBE even Costello in for Docherty

    13 outfield players warming up. The 10 starters plus Ahadme, Mbick and Fullah. Would suggest those 3 are the ones not scheduled to be part of team 2, as there are 10 outfield players in the squad not warming up.

    Must admit i'm slightly puzzled why we keep starting Kanu, as i keep hearing he's going out on loan. I can only assume that NJ is undecided on him.

    Don’t think I have ever seen us play the team
    that starts our first game of the season in a pre season friendly. Most teams like to keep under wraps the starting team for the first game of the season
