It's funny cause when we were originally linked I thought Famewo would have been a good pick up, now I wouldn't be fussed and think we can do much better.
The cash expenditure has turned me into a total football diva.0 -

I still believe Berry will be gone come the end of the window… I still reckon another quality CM is needed.1

Now the great and the good are leaving him out of their suggested matchday squads altogether and no-one is protesting.
I fear he may be difficult to shift because he is paid too well.

Berry is 33 now, he was never going to be playing every week in the Championship. He'll be used as an impact sub when we need a goal and he'll do well at it39

With discussions on here about the 11 starting against Watford we should remember that some of the players that joined later on have missed some of pre season and will be slightly behind both on fitness and learning the system. I think Kelman and Knibbs will be on the bench for Watford. They will likely be in our best 11 but they are unlikely to be starting against Watford.13

They’ve been in full training. They’ve not downed tools. Fitness wise they’re the same as the others.
is Apter behind because he only had half of the week in Slovenia.
if they’re behind, it will be in the understanding of how our old squad played and the old squad’s understanding of how they play..
Powell managed a similar transition perfectly well.2 -

This is about players understanding each others game and fitness. Albeit we didn’t start the strongest side.
Keep Watford guessing is probably the idea.
We aren’t putting our strongest 11 out v Southend either.
Very strange pre season because we have signed so many players.0 -

Berry will be a Danny Hylton type play this year. Perhaps a few more appearances. 15-20 appearances max. A few more if there are big injuries.
I am guessing no more than 200 mins total in League matches.30 -

Best to not get to fixated on Berry, I know a few don’t rate him, but sometimes you need experience, I’m relaxed either way whether NJ thinks he’s got a part to play or not.
Lets just try and enjoy the ride, if we have a slow start to the season, lose the first 5 on the bounce, or go on a bad run, rather than moaning and sniping from the sides, we’re all going to have to suck it up and get behind the club even more, they are going to need our support more than ever, who knows how long the feel good party is going to last.11 -

Just wondering, would Nathan have been at Brighton the same season they had Joe Bennett on loan?2

Fitness is a science and numbers game. There has been talk of our whole squad being behind because of the playoffs meaning our pre season started a week late.
Then throw in knowing the system and their teammates which they haven't had time to build those on the pitch relationships.
A lot will come down to their individual bodies. Remember when Cullen missed 3 months for a dislocated shoulder and came back and played 90 mins twice a week immediately. Bow said it was because his body was a bit of a freak of fitness. Maybe one of them are like that. But I think chances of them both starting against Watford are pretty minimal.2 -
