Absolutely buzzing with all things Charlton at the moment. Fair play to the owners who have exceeded all expectations so far. UTA

Kelman, league 1 top scorer for £3.5m or a no mark from Middlesbrough who both millwall and boro fans don’t rate ? Difficult one

No excuse if we can’t score goals this year.

Quite possibly - he’s too tall for his ability so is virtually a hologram and slips through my memory just the same - he’s too translucent to remember

WTAF - how good is this to wake up to on a Sunday morning (yes, it's not really a surprise but fact is better than rumour).
It feels like this window are the actions of a club that have survived their first season and are building - we've done it in our first season back.
We haven't assembled a squad to survive this season, we have assembled a squad to push on, and who knows where that might end in May next year.

    What’s changed?

Charlie leaving and a change in philosophy or the owners on a high from Wembley still and getting caught up in the Wrexham style dream?
Wembley was an eye opener for them. Not so much the performance, but the level of support made them realise just how much potential existed for the club
You are spot on,if only Roland had seen that a few years back and invested the money,we would not have spent all these years in  league 1.This club can easily get 20000+ per game, and be among the front runners.
Difference is Roland wasn't interested & didn't attend Wembley in 2019. The new owners are & did !

Jury slightly out for me on this one given his record before last season (and above L1 level), but I am very impressed how much backing the owners have given Jones.

Fingers crossed him and Olaofe do the business!

Really hope he’s not a one season wonder, good luck Charlie you can’t be much worse than last years big summer signing, GASSAN!

Put Kelman/Godden/and May in an iD parade, not sure I'd get it right. Sign of my age.

Any they body through the door and a goal scorer this time.

    Welcome Charlie
Please post pictorial proof from whatsapp to confirm the signing!

Very happy. Any idea why this has been announced on Sunday morning? It might just be because there is no reason not to announce it today.
This afternoon they will be announcing our ground share with Millwall.

Can't be sure yet but such is football. Likely a big step up for him, and others. QPR effectively got a refund on the Bonne purchase anyway.
Their fans won't be happy if Kellman succeeds at Championship level.

To our advantage clearly but why are QPR happy to
let him go? You’d have thought after last season they should want to use him.

Do they have more significant financial challenges of their own ?

QPR OS says he wanted to leave, and we know he only had 1 year left on his contract with them, so this was the ideal time to sell for a good fee.
Reading Cawley it seems his remaining contract length at QPR is not confirmed.

Not without risk, this one. It’s a lot of money for us, compared to anything else we have spent post Premier League years, but I also don’t thing it’s out of whack with what players cost these days. Yes he only has one good season behind him but it was a really very good season and he’s just at the age where he should be about to kick on in his career and establish himself.

As always, time will if it’s a good move or not and no signing is ever certain to succeed, but it certainly an exciting one and as a newly promoted side I’m not sure we can show much more ambition that signing the previous season’s top scorer from of the division we just climbed out of.

    Welcome Charlie!

Looks like a young version of Godden from this. Absolutely quality - hats off to the owners, incredible signing!

    Any idea on the fee?

I know officially it'll be undisclosed but feel like this could be a near record signing for us.
I wouldn't have thought so. I believe our record signing is still the £4.75m we paid for Jason Euell.  Surely, Kelman wouldn't have cost that.

Mind you, the Euell record has stood for best part of 25 years so it's about time it was toppled.

Chunky fee and 4 year deal.
    Here we go !
Charlton 3/1 to finish in top half (Hills and Paddy).
Worth an interest in my view.
