It has always puzzled me why people are so concerned with the fee. It’s not my money so I couldn’t care less.
When we can only lose 13m per season it matters how much is spent on each player we bring in.

I think Kelman is a good player but that’s a steep price.

£13m excludes costs such as youth development, so it's not our total losses.

I expect we're also cover it and grow our budget by selling a player or two for a big fee every so often.

    Kelman and Knibbs. Wow.
When it’s on the OS, some saying Wrexham in for Knibbs
Cannot see him wanting to sign for some remote rural club which no-one has ever heard of to play before 600 fans and a bunch of sheep.

Makes the Small to Preston decision even more bizarre. If he knew what was about to go down here then I can’t see why he would have wanted to go.

But then again we clearly had the budget for him if we wanted to go there that much

The Kelman, Knibbs and Kanu dream team up top. Needs a snappy acronym like Shearer and Sutton had...

Interesting! That wasn't the striker that's been rumoured for a few days. Can't say I really noticed Burrell last season .

I still think there’s an element of Jones not fancying him to that outcome

If Kelman gets 10 goals next season then that will have been a major success.
I think that would depend on how many minutes he played, and his overall contribution. After all Bonne in 19/20 got 11 in the Championship.
And he was a major success. Bought for £200k from a non-league side, wasn’t expected to play as much as he did and nearly contributed enough to keep us up despite his lack of experience, and then was sold for 10x what we signed him for. If we hadn’t re-signed him it would have been a brilliant bit of work
Only played because of injuries didn't he ? (at least at first) Superb goal against Derby in the 3-0 stuffing

  • Charlie Kelmans fee won't look too excessive if his goals keep us up.

People are too concerned about money being spent that isn't theirs on players that improve us.

I can understand being frustrated at not spending fees, as going football and watching shit (most of the last 15 years or so) is very repetitive, but being concerned about us spending millions on players to help our cause doesn't make much sense. It's a positive.

Keep us up? Don't you mean get us up?

I thought Burrell looked really good second half of the season for Burton - young too. I saw him as a better version of TC - similar attributes but he had more end product. Very interested to see how he gets on at QPR.

Whatever turns you on, I suppose...

Though we are clearly destined to dominate this season, or something.

NJ did not like him much. Hoicked him several times at half time for not following direction.

Lyle Taylor's goals would have kept us up if he had not gone on strike. He had never played in the Champ before either.

Remember him scoring a hat trick? for West Brom back in the Prem days against us.

I think we're all going to have to adjust to how much good players cost now 😄
Agree and that’s why we have to take a punt on Kelman any guaranteed goal machine will be beyond us.
