After we sold May and didn't sack Jones after the Crawley game I thought this SMT were clueless but I'm happily eating those words now.20

Wonder if Bennett is in as cover so the U21s have enough players and can get enough minutes. If Dixon played Man U on Thursday I would expect Enslin did too and so then there’s no cover for Edwards who probably isn’t ready for 90 mins yet. Him being on trial could just be a convenience thing for both us and Bennett4

Knibbs or Donley would complete the jigsaw nicely for our first 11.
Then it’s just backup players we need to add more depth….LWB, RWB & maybe DM.9 -

To repeat his words the US owners met the whole squad at Sparrows Lane on the Thursday prior to the final and committed to them that if they get promoted they would invest to ensure that we were competitive in the Championship. He said they confirmed that they would unlikely be spending fees at the same level as Birmingham or Wrexham but would be investing to help us try to maintain Champ/continue to grow.None of this spending is a surprise to me as a result as player X had no reason to lie about it. If we spent £8-10m on a player then I would have been shocked but not these levels. I personally expected around £8m fees and a massive hike in wages, so over the moon so far and if Knibbs comes in too (for a fee) just wow…!
Big thanks to the owners for the backing!

Apologies for saying you were also the nutter who keeps pretending to be the Leyton Orient fan, I've got severe ptsd from a decade of poor owners.
Thanks for sharing the information 👍🏻5 -

I know it will probably be Spurs' decision and not Donley's, but if he is someone NJ wants on loan, then i wonder if Kelman being here would give us some kind of edge in getting him. Maybe he'll want to come and play alongside the guy he played with all last season.18

Chunes said:Kelman seems underrated. He's an excellent, tidy technical player. I recall saying the same earlier in the season but he had only scored something like 5 in 24, before he caught fire and scored a lot more. I'd have taken him before the goals, tbh. He has a lot to offer and I don't think he's just a sniffer dog.
That being said, I'm curious to see NJ going for someone like him rather than another, more physical forward.
My thoughts the 1st time I saw Charlie Kelman 👍🏻
I think we are moving on from the Chuks Aneke type forward.
If we are hitting teams in transition then it's not just about holding the ball up but quick sharp moves while defenders are out of place to get shots off.
Having said that when Miles is on the field if a 6ft 7in player can't shield the ball and hold up play when we are building a move, what's he doing on the pitch ?
I want Leaburn to get the ball to his feet as well as in the air. ML does have some pace but isn't quick over the first few yards because of his size unless the defenders are dozy.
We have a good mix of forwards now and they will all get game time other than Ahadme or any young forward who goes out on loan.
We will have a plan A, B and possibly C this season because of the higher standard in the Championship.
Exciting times are back, try to be positive folks and be a supporter not always a critic.1 -

This may sound a paradox but this is spot on 👏🏼1 -
Hope it happens. Seen him (Kelman) play a few times over past 2 years and his game really went up a level last season. Plus a really good lad off the pitch.2

Good thing we didn't win 5-0 in the final with some of the subs/fringe players scoring aswell, don't wanna upset them this coming season.0

All players will have the faith that they're better than what's coming in, if you don't have that mentality you don't make it as a professional footballer4
-
Knibbs feels like a Charlton type of player. Grafter who can play multiple positions and can grow with the club7
-
I love that we have alot of players this coming season now who can play alot of different postions
Going to be a big plus when injuries happen and ingame tactics need to change7 -

Watching that video of Kelman's goals, you can see why he aligns himself so much to Godden, a lot of those goals had Godden written all over them, def a poacher in the box with a clinical finish, hope this gets done soon...4
