  • Evans through to last 16 beating no 13 seed Michelsen.
Great to see Evans progressing in an event,
Big fan of Evans. Thought he might call it a day when his ranking fell to 217 but he's now back inside the top 150 after some decent performances of late.
  • Raducanu beats Osaka and regains her spot as British no 1.

    Norrie and Evans both out.
  • Great win for Raducanu. Up to 32 now. Found the heat challenging but showed far better resilience

Boulter and Radacanu both in action in Montreal today - ongoing battle for the No 1 British spot.

Norrie plays tomorrow in Toronto  - seeded 31. Fearnley lost yesterday.
  • Emma back down to 42 in the live rankings after a big climb last week. Boutler #40 and Kartal #48 (but not playing this week).

I thought Raducanu was up to 33 https://www.wtatennis.com/rankings/singles announced today
went from something like 45 up to 33 due to Washington semis

Not sure how the live ranking on a Monday can change so much from the rankings only out today - maybe due to points to defend from the Canadian Open last year?

Players lose the points they are due to defend in the latest week hence Raducanu has dropped in the live rankings. She reached the QF of the Citi Open in the corresponding week last year.

The Canadian Open is scheduled for the same week this year.

Yes, I thought so - I recall her losing to Badosa. When she came on court just now, it showed her at 33

They don't show the live ranking - just the ranking at the end of the previous tournament.
  • Comfortable victory for Emma in straight sets.

which is the most recent rankings (announced every Monday) - so they are out of date as soon as they are announced! Back to live 40 now Peyton Stearns up next (tomorrow)
  • Norrie and Raducanu in action today - expecting them both to progress but nothing is guaranteed in tennis.

Peyton Stearns ranking is 37 and her live ranking is 37 - unusual for both to be the same. She is no 32 seed so around Raducanu's ranking
