UEFA have warned Chelsea and Villa over the overpriced PSR deal for Omari Kellyman and Ian Maatsen last summer1 -
How do UEFA decide what is an "overpriced" deal or not?
I hope they're not going to investigate us for when we signed Ahadme10 -

Everyone knows Brentford have a ton of cash to spend, they'll find it hard to get their usual bargainsMarcusH26 said:
Just feels like too many players to lose at once. I'm sure they'll find some gems as replacements they always do , but to lose that amount of goals is going to be very hard to replace. Massively rate Damsgaard as a creator but he's not a goalscorer like Mbeumo. Guess the Wissa replacement is already there in Igor Thiago who they signed last summer for big money but spent most of last season injuredChris_from_Sidcup said:The one thing in their favour is that they always recruit really well. Whenever they've lost big players before (Watkins, Benrahma, Toney, Konsa, Raya) their replacements have usually been just as good if not better. The issue is that this year, they're losing a lot of players all at the same time.

I'll be honest, I didn't see Granit Xhaka to Sunderland coming0

The Maatsen fee (37.5m) whilst obviously not cheap, probably isn't that bad in todays market. He had a season of PL and Bundesliga football behind him and has since been capped by Holland.MarcusH26 said:https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football/article/uefa-warns-chelsea-and-aston-villa-on-inflated-player-swap-deals-xjk08xl5s

The Kellyman deal was definitely dodgy. 19m for a kid with a couple of sub appearances.0 -

Wonder if they'll come after Spurs for the Richarlison deal. We paid £55m over what he was worth, absolute injury prone donkey lolForeverAddickted said:How do UEFA decide what is an "overpriced" deal or not?

I'm not surprised. They need to keep him, and he's worth way more than that anyway.MarcusH26 said:https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6486297/2025/07/22/yoane-wissa-newcastle-united/

25m is insulting. Newcastle are having an absolute stinker this transfer window. Feels like they've been linked with about 7-8 players who've all ended up moving elsewhere. Trafford looks like being the latest one.MarcusH26 said:https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6486297/2025/07/22/yoane-wissa-newcastle-united/

Newcastle don't seem to able to land any of their targets, they've not got PSR issues and they need a striker badly, I guess the problem is anyone knows Isak is the first choiceChris_from_Sidcup said:

I know it's been a while and their squad size is a bit low on numbers, so to address that Chelsea have agreed deals today for two more signings.3

Same issue Spurs had with Kane for years, basically trying to sign a decent backup when anyone decent didn't want to come as they'd obviously only be backup.MarcusH26 said:

Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan.
I know he can be decent, and had a good loan at Aston Villa, but how the hell has he managed to pull that move off?3 -

I saw he 'only wanted Barcelona' earlier in the summer and was going to make a joke about the fact I only want Ana de Armas but that doesn't mean much, and he's actually got the move!ForeverAddickted said:Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan.

I know they are broke but still seems a strange one.0 -

Didnt they win £120m or some such obscene amount for winning the club world cup?0 -
Barcelona can't even register Rashford yet, they need to offload players and cut their wage bill before they're allowed to do so.

Selling a hotel and their women's team to themselves helped.BigRedEvil said:

But they do also make a ridiculous amount in sales. They've already made 100m in player sales this summer and have others like Veiga, Nkunku, Disasi, Chukwumeka and Jackson who will probably be sold.0 -

Can't find a non paywall version but looks like Lucas Paqueta is going to be cleared of spot fixing and the FA could be on the hook for his legal costs.0
