So from Jones interview today, the players will be doing 60-30 again on Saturday before the Ipswich and Southend games where we will see 90 minutes for most players I’d assume. Would think we go with a strong side for the Ipswich game that will be pretty close to the Watford eleven
It's an odd one, as usually it all builds up to the final game, which is the toughest opponent.
This time it's the penultimate one which is the proper test. Will NJ use the Southend games for the squad players or will the same 11 as Ipswich need more minutes?
I think Southend will be the strongest XI to try and go into the season with as much positivity as possible. I don’t think he’ll risk it for Ipswich incase it doesn’t go well, which might burst the bubble a bit.
I suspect for Ipswich will be quite strong, but he’ll test a few to see if they’re capable of making the step up against better opposition.
I don’t see the point of having the Ipswich game if it’s not a full side
Great chance to see how some of the more fringe players like the Mitchell’s, Asiimwe, Mbick etc can cope against much higher opposition. Very rare players like that will get a game against top end Champ players with no pressure on the result

I assume the 2 teams would have agreed what level of side they'd each put out. Ipswich might not want their best players to be up against "kids".

And I’m sure they won’t be, both fixtures will be relatively hybrid squads to get 90 minutes into legs primarily
