I hope Im wrong but I can't see anything other than a Spain win in the final. They ran rings around us in June in the Nations League and should have won by more than the 2-1 scoreline suggests.
We need to be on absolute top form to stand any chance of winning.
So it's the current European champions v the current World champions (and Nations league champions).
Honestly can't see anything but a Spain win but they're certainly not unbeatable. We beat them in the Nations league at Wembley and they lost twice in last years Olympics to Brazil and Germany.
The women’s game doesn’t seem to have improved at the top level.
The lesser teams from 4 years ago do seem to have improved though Either way we support the lady lions. It is a poor tournament. still makes me laugh when the US legend Rapenhoe or whatever her name was asked for equal pay!! The women’s game would cease to exist if that was the case!
The US women’s team is far more successful than the US men’s team, and pulls in more money, so why shouldn’t they get at least the same pay and conditions as the men for representing their country?
The women's team are definitely more successful but they don't earn more. The prize money for the men's world cup is four times what the women get.
The US men's team got $13m in Qatar, this was more than the women's team earned ($6.5m) from winning the 2015 and 2019 tournaments combined.
But in any case it doesn't matter because the USA actually do have an equal pay agreement anyway, so the men and women’s teams split all World Cup earnings.
That equal pay agreement is reasonably new, before that the women were treated very badly by the US football authorities.
She's not been out of form. She's been fed absolutely nothing all tournament but regardless has put in an incredible amount of running, stretching defenders and winning the ball back high up the pitch. Despite having almost nothing to work with she's scored one goal and was very unlucky to have one disallowed against France while also getting 3 assists against Netherlands, laying on Toone's goal against Wales and being one of the few to score her penalty against Sweden. She's had an absolutely thankless job this tournament but was our most important player against Sweden and has run herself into the ground

probably my favourite player for us so far in this tournament. She is absolutely putting in a shift every game, and harassing the centre backs the whole time whilst being pretty isolated.
Then Agyemane comes on and batters them some more !!!
England need their best performance of the tournament to trouble Spain and the defence needs to raise its levels to places not seen for about 3 years But hope springs eternal (or at least until Sunday evening) cos the Germans really weren't all that and Spain had very few meaningful chances, their one goal owing most to a goalkeeping howler. The extra 24 hours recovery time might just be enough of an edge.
I think she needs to start with 2 up front. Russo will play her game all over the front and Agyemang will support her. A no brainer as far as I can see.
Interesting article about Serena. She has reached 5 major tournament finals in a row. Winning the Women's Euros twice and losing WC final twice, with a Euro final to go.
The FA value the England men's women's managers equally but pay the women's manager less than a 10th.*
*I'm not saying if that's right or wrong .. I just thought it was funny saying they are equally important but then having this massive pay disparity.

Surprised to see Carter in for Morgan but hopefully she proves me wrong
Sarina makes some strange decisions but because of her record it's difficult to criticise her. Not surprised she kept her game changers on the bench as she did that in 22 Euro's but she got lucky when she left it until the 85th minute to put Kelly and Agyemang on in the semi final. Why did she take that risk ?
To win we need to play more direct but I tipped Spain to do the double of WC and Euros and England have a great spirit but we have used up all of cats lives. Sweden had so many opportunities to beat England and blew it.
Carter has struggled this tournament and Sarina will be judged on this decision and when she makes the subs. She made the subs a lot earlier in the last tournament.
If we can take our chances from 35% possession then it's possible but Spain are a better passing teams and are favourites.
I only ever like to see Carter on the left of a back 3, otherwise she's not the one for me. Morgan did enough to earn a start here. Carter's biggest problems this tournament though have been getting the ball played in behind her so there's the chance that we're looking to sit deep and counter, which Germany did to good effect despite not finishing their chances. If that's the case then Carter's strength will be useful and I can see why Wiegman would pick her

it takes a lot of balls to pick Henderson !

she is a Grealish type of player to me, and personally not a fan of Grealish for England
Jess Carter, couldn’t turn on a roundabout
Lauren James, primadonna, too lazy
