Because television documentaries, sponerzhip what they can charge for advertising and of course new investment, they are one of the wealthiest clubs in the Championship outside of the 3 clubs relegated from the Prem. But with less player costs than ex Prem teams.ThomasOliver3 said:That is not the profile of signing I expected Wrexham to be after. Crazy money for a newly promoted club.1 -

Michael Smith would be a perfect squad player, offering us something we don't have now, an experienced presence up top.2
-
Wouldn't mind Smith either, great in the air, suits our playstyle and is good for 10 or so goals a season, could do a lot worse.killerandflash said:Michael Smith would be a perfect squad player, offering us something we don't have now, an experienced presence up top.0 -

They will definitely spend a lot more. I forget who it was but they were linked with a midfielder for 5m last week.golfaddick said:
Depends how many other players they sign. If they only sign another 1 or 2 then you may find we spend more than they do.fenaddick said:
That’s a big fee to drop on one player. Very interesting to see how much more they can spend. I’ve given up trying to predict how well Wrexham will do as I thought they’d be play off contenders last year and I got that quite wrong.Braziliance said:
I'd rather spend £7m spread over 4 or 5 players than £4m on just 1.0 -
Lewis O'Brien from Forest was the main link.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Most media sites today are saying Wrexham are paying £2.1m for that Empoli player. Not £4m.2

Birmingham have loaned Bailey Peacock-Farrell to Blackpool for the season. Looks like they're going with James Beadle and Ryan Alsop as their 2 GKs0
-
Be interesting where some of the players who've left Wednesday end up, Smith, Windass, Armstrong, Bannan etc.
Especially given they are all the wrong side of 30.

West Brom have signed George Campbell from Montreal. He's a right or centre back, and American international.

Cacace to Wrexham and Irankunda to Watford now confirmed.1

Wrexham have to go for it. Their whole sponsorship/international fan base is built on sand. Stall and everyone loses interest and suddenly the coffers run dry and they have big wages to pay. How long do the Hollywood boys keep throwing cash at that.
Whilst they are in an upward trajectory, more people jump aboard the bandwagon. Sadly I can see them being PL inside 2-3 years.2 -
They need to get a shift on in the transfer market they have just lost again to an Aussie team made up of youngsters it seems their glorious tour down under didn’t end wellAthletico Charlton said:Wrexham have to go for it. It'll just add to the TV series narrative.AndyG said:

Crisis talks after a disappointing Aussie tour. Parky swearing a lot.
Hey presto, they sign some players, turn things around and win their first Championship game, in front of their celebrating Hollywood owners...0 -

Not Championship but I do like to follow his career - Huddersfield’s 6 ft 9 striker Kyle Hudlin has signed for a Vietnamese club.

Wrexham set to sign George Thomason from Bolton for around 1.2m. Not one that would excite me.4
-
Bamford not being given a squad number and been told he can leave Leeds or play with u21s.Presumably he'd prefer a Premier League side but I'm sure a few Championship sides would be interested.0

A shame, as he could have joined our misspelt 11, alongside Gillespie and Ramsey.LargeAddick said:Wrexham set to sign George Thomason from Bolton for around 1.2m. Not one that would excite me.5 -
That's pretty underwhelming. Would give me a few question marks about how much they rate DobsonLargeAddick said:Wrexham set to sign George Thomason from Bolton for around 1.2m. Not one that would excite me.0 -
He’s not Prem level anymore, he’s good for a Championship promotion/play off chasing team now thoughstoneroses19 said:Bamford not being given a squad number and been told he can leave Leeds or play with u21s.Presumably he'd prefer a Premier League side but I'm sure a few Championship sides would be interested.1 -
Was initially thinking Norwich to replace Sargent but forgot he had a very underwhelming loan there a few years back. Anyone in the promotion race he could do a job for.fenaddick said:
