We have enough Knobs playing in English football at the moment, don’t need anymore thanks.PragueAddick said:Jac_52 said:
Sounds like we need to sign ChoryPragueAddick said:Well I did ask in the restaurant about Mathias Ross, @fenaddick, and I really should have got my order in first as it took Petr the owner about 10 minutes to describe how bad he was🤣 Very light for a centre back, which they could have lived with in the Czech League, except that he didnt have pace to compensate, and was extremely vulnerable to a ball over the top. Said that against an ugly old- fashioned English style striker like Tomaš Chory (now at Slavia) it would have been a massacre, but he was spared that as he was always on the bench for those games.
Petr says he read that he still had a year on his contract at Galatasaray, but they cancelled it and so he’s a free agent.
Happy to delete this after a short while, before anyone from Preston reads it 🤣
He has been most of his career at my team (Viktoria Plzen), a very late developer (now 30). I used to think he'd be a good signing for an English Championship club, but he is a bit of a knob on the pitch, and possibly off it too if you believe some tweets.0 -
6ft 7 striker signed. Done deal.27

Miles being fit and firing wouldn't stop me still wanting another striker in the building, would want someone more in the poacher mould like the sniffer dog.7

Priority now must be an attacking midfielder1

Great news.
Hopefully a pre season will help protect his body from injury.1 -
We’ve already got Berry & Carey - we won’t be signing anyone else for that role.blackpool72 said:Priority now must be an attacking midfielder2 -

Looking at the squad list, hopefully TC is next for a new deal as his expires 2026, though we do have an optional year extension we can activate.
Asiimwe is in the same position, but I guess that depends whether NJ rates him.0 -
I think we will want another big man. Whenever plan A didn’t work last season we subbed Aneke on and hit long balls. We need someone for that. Leaburn can compete with Godden for one of the starting roles and is also a good impact player from the bench but we can’t rely on him being fit so need another big manMarcusH26 said:Miles being fit and firing wouldn't stop me still wanting another striker in the building, would want someone more in the poacher mould like the sniffer dog.15 -
And Miles isn't just a big lump up front, indeed he's a bit wasted playing if just used as a battering ram.NabySarr said:

Exactly, he’s better if you get the ball into his feet. We need someone else to be the battering ram to replace Aneke for that impact rolekillerandflash said:

Miles is a weird one really as in someone who is supposedly 6'7 he's not that great in the air but is skilful with his feet.NabySarr said:

I think he’s improved from when he first broke through at the aerial and hold up side of the game. That’s why he’s got so much potential because if he can get that to a good level he will be some playerblackpool72 said:

I'd say he's about 6'5, think the club are exaggerating his height a bit with that figure.

This summer would get even better if Joe Gomez was sold for £35 million.12
-
I would have thought it would be easier to train someone to time jumps, get direction on the ball etc than it is to be skilful with feet?0

If he goes on to become anywhere near as good as some think then he will command a very good fee.7 -

Exactly, not like a guy to exaggerate anything by a couple of inches...🙄16 -
Hey all,
Longer time reader, first time poster. Taking the plunge now everything is looking much more positive for the club. Thanks for having me.
It's been a really positive summer, delighted with the signings of Kaminski and Olaofe, intrigued by Carey (not seen much of him) and uncertain about Bell (have we got him on the decline)
Agree with most on here that's I'd like to see x2 RWB's and CAM and another forward added.49 -

But exaggerating a smidge.
A very good mate of mine who you have met posts on here.
His son who is also Charlton is 6 '7.
Having stood next to both of them I think Miles is about 6'5 or 6 '6 at a push.3 -
Swear they said Godden was about 6ft 1 at one point? He's apparently 5ft 10 now so shrunk in his old age2

I’d say Miles is around the same height as Joe.blackpool72 said:

On the subject of transfer targets a couple of players I'd be interested in.
- Tyrhys Dolan - Out of contract with Blackburn lots of experience but only 23, I saw him as a player who could compete and cover for TC. Seems to have lots of interest though
- Alex Freeman - I was recently in Orlando and saw this lad play, looked a fantastic player, again young, RWB who was an impressive athlete over 6ft, quick and ran all game, he even scored. A US U23 INTL, MLS All-star and just had a senior call-up. Looking online he's interested clubs in the Championship and Serie A previously and a fee of £2m mentioned. He maybe out of budget but given our need for this position he'd be perfect and someone I think we could make a lot of money on

Club need to come out and clarify his height immediately to be honest! Forget signings!11
