He could be. Ramsey and Small had both worked with Jones before at Southampton.jondon76 said:Really think this Luton Town ex player thing is getting a bit silly now, why aren't we looking at Stoke and Southampton as well ?2 -
Yeah I'll happily accept that one! Does make me wonder how many CBs we'll bring in.cafc_se7 said:
To be fair though, Lloydy doesn’t seem to go long spells of games without breaking down.MarcusH26 said:My only concern with Burke is the injury record , Will Abbott might be fantastic at his job but Luton fans saying we'll be lucky to get 15-20 games from him feels like massive gamble. Feels like the last thing we need is chopping and changing the backline around because someone is constantly breaking down.0 -
Bell's recent injury record is on par with Lloyd Jones so it isn't terrible eitherChris_from_Sidcup said:
Bell's recent injury record isn't great either but we still signed him.MarcusH26 said:My only concern with Burke is the injury record , Will Abbott might be fantastic at his job but Luton fans saying we'll be lucky to get 15-20 games from him feels like massive gamble. For those unhappy with the direction we’re going in, a good reminder of where we were not that long ago.

Not entirely. Luton had a very negative feel to them last season, and players do take some of that baggage with them.ShootersHillGuru said:
Different manager. Team set up differently and different players in front of them. No. Not really.charltonbob said:
If we sign Burke that's 3 defenders that got relegated with Luton, I don't know much about any of them but anybody else slightly concerned ?000__Jaaaaay__000 said:We got Chappell and Dane in to get Luton players? How about some proper scouting for once ?
Plymouth by contrast also went down, but had a really positive vibe under Muslic and would have stayed up if he had been in charge all season. They were decent in the second half of the season, and I would have been targeting their players more than Luton's. It seems that most of their best players have gone already now.0 -

Would have a look at Bali Mumba as an RWB option but agree most of the Plymouth squad has been picked apart now, saw Stoke signed their big Ukrainian CB.killerandflash said:

That team lost to a Lincoln team managed by Michael Appleton and contained, McGrandles, Fiorini and last season's trialist Teddy Bishop11

I do wonder if we'll see any trialists at Dartford or if it'll be a 45/45 split squad which is pretty easy to do for most positions with a few U21s included in the second half side.0

Despite them being raided, they still have some quality left, actually feel quite bad for them.MarcusH26 said:

In other news re Plymouth, I don't know how I missed this, they signed Wiredu

I reckon he will do class there and potentially be playing Championship football next season with them.0 -
So there’s not a different manager, team set up differently and different players in front of them ? Just checking.killerandflash said:

What a boring, ignorant commentSteven81 said:
Agreed teams like Preston and Swansea are massive compared to us.Sambcafc said:I’m honestly astounded at the level of negativity around our transfer business and the amount of moaning going on. Let’s remember where we have come from and how different it is now under this ownership who have already spent well over £2m this window. It’s unbelievable how quick fans forget how bad it’s been before. We are now a well run club buying in experience and trying to sign youth. We cannot get every target as we are now a little fish in a big pond. But lots seem to have forgotten this.4 -
Like Jones but still got voted POTY … injuries are part and parcel of football most players will have injuries through their careerMarcusH26 said:My only concern with Burke is the injury record , Will Abbott might be fantastic at his job but Luton fans saying we'll be lucky to get 15-20 games from him feels like massive gamble. Of course they are established but are we small fish compared to them ? That's my point look at our crowd pull, owners and history I was more defending our position that we ain't small time.Leuth said:
He was obviously being sarcastic, and people did have to point out that they are in fact established Championship sidesDDOUBLEE said:

Adam Randell for £750k is an absolute bargain. If we didn't have Coventry locked in as the CDM I'd have been all over that.killerandflash said:

Was that the game Stockley came on and immediately scored an own goal?2

Typical negative Charlton Life, admitting that our opponent’s goals counted.fenaddick said:

Playing with ten men with Souaré in the team. What a complete waste of space he was.Scoham said:For those unhappy with the direction we’re going in, a good reminder of where we were not that long ago.

What was the game Stockley shouted at Adkins to find a new system. From memory the lineup that game was equally shoddy0
-
One of Adkins’ last games before he got the boot and Jacko took over.
Adkins left Pearce, Stockley, Washington and CBT on the bench that day.I’m guessing Dobson must’ve been suspended to not have even been included in the matchday squad.0 -
Yeah, that's fair. They're not bigger than us (Preston have amazing history but it's basically the same time as ours)Steven81 said:
