I’m so shocked to see this. I was looking at Sky Sports to see news of televised games and stumbled directly onto this:

    https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13391754/diogo-jota-liverpool-forward-dies-in-car-accident-in-spain

It just shows you how in life you never know when your time is up.
Imagine hiring a boat on a lake and the guy says ’I might let you have your full time or I might just call you back at any time, even when you’re having the best time possible and everything is going well. They are my rules and tough if you don’t like it.’

That’s basically what God or nature is reminding us of today.

He’s just 28 and become a Champion of England and got married but that’s it - Game over.

    RIP.

Words like "tragic" get thrown around casually,  but not in this instance.  So sad for his family
  • Awful news.

So sad. Some reports saying it was a collision with another car and others saying there were no other vehicles involved?

I read that he was overtaking another car in his Lamborghini when a tyre burst. His car completely burnt out but no mention of the other car.

I get that's it their first game since his tragic death, but ITV showing the Preston-Liverpool friendly this afternoon is surely scraping the barrel for viewers.

Not sure i've ever known a pre-season friendly be shown live on free-to-air tv before.

Small starts at LWB for Preston, trying a bit too hard at the moment with the tricks

That does seem odd, almost morbid. Did ITV definitely only pick up the rights to broadcast the match after Jota died?

Can’t thinks of another reason why you would show a pre season friendly involving Preston.

Liverpool Echo reckons the rights were secured before Jota died

Yeah I’m pretty sure I read this was on ITV before he died, just coincidence

not sure why on earth they want to show this anyway 🤷‍♂️

Why is it morbid? A commemoration for Diogo Jota. Listening to the Liverpool fans constantly singing his song is constantly is quite emotional.
