2025 Womens' Euros

Couldn't see a thread. Got a lot more into women's football since my daughter started playing. Looking forward to seeing how England do 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Some big names aren't in the squad, particularly Mary Earls, but think we will get to semis at least. Really looking forward to it... Couple of daughters who love football and eggy, football hating but also feminist Mrs who knows she can't say bupkis whilst we watch the entire tournament. Win.

I watched the Switzerland-Norway game last night. The commentators said Switzerland were bonding it when I switched on at HT,  but from the moment Norway equalised, it was very even. The Swiss penalty which VAR overruled for offside shouldn't have been given anyway in my opinion as the Seiss player won't down because she slipped (being kind) and I couldn't see any contact at all. But good game to watch.

Will probably watch the England games, but doubt will watch any others

Got a feeling we might struggle to get out of the Group of Death (and Wales) but hopefully we can defend the title

The Iceland v Finland game wasn’t great.
But I really enjoyed the Swiss v Norway game. Thought the Swiss were pretty decent and unlucky not to at least get a draw.
    Good crowds too.

That was as marginal as it gets. France have broken through a couple of times now

Are both of Tony Cascarino’s daughters playing for France tonight?

I can't help, against my will, picturing Tony Cascarino in drag every time that name is mentioned.

I recommend his autobiography, by the way

1-0 France. Been coming to be honest. A few misplaced passes by England, one of which lead to the goal.

Piss poor defending and now it's 2-0. We can't keep hold of the ball at all

The defending was shocking but surely Russo was fouled?

No idea how VAR looks at that and doesn't give a foul. The player clearly went through the back of Russo and took her before the ball.
