Millwall sign GK Max Crocombe on a free , formally of Burton7 -
Not Championship related but I see former Charlton legend Matt Penney has been released by Altrincham.
Still trying to find his level.

Have they just propped a body in the chair to make it look like they're trying to do some transfer business?

Named after original Nancy Spain (born in Kerry in 1837) and not the one who apparently inspired the name, if not the lyrics, of the song (born in Jesmond in 1917). Although I suspect Christy may have been thinking of the original when he recorded it.guinnessaddick said:
Just opened a second Nancy Spain pub in Fenchurch St , following the one in Shoreditch.NornIrishAddick said:

Jason Scotland is Trinidadian
Mike England is Welsh.
Stephen Ireland is Irish though.
Not a footballer though, so a bit of a tangent.

Surely this was a joke, wasn’t it? Some people seemed to get annoyed with him but I found his posts interesting.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

If this is true then people on here are way too over sensitive, and I think it’s wrong to ban him.MillwallFan said:
If it is who I think it is he may have had a bit of trouble with Charlton fans online in the past (he may have even had a previous account on CL many moons ago but don’t quote me on that). Hence the pretending to be a Charlton fan just so he could get his Millwall points across without stirring the hornets nest. Very strange behaviour but clearly an intelligent bloke. Just not the full ticket.Braziliance said:
He is 100% a Millwall fan. I've spoke with him on twitter a number of times, he would find some of my tweets and talk about Millwall on them. I've also seen him under a number of other Charlton users tweets on twitter.MillwallFan said:

(although I suspect so is he. Which is very strange behaviour. I mean, it’s strange that I post on here! But to pretend to be a Charlton fan and then post constantly about Millwall is another level strange. 😆)
He actually had some decent views, just a shame he went with the whole pretending to be a Charlton act and baiting people.
Banning should only be for insulting others imo1 -
Do you not think it’s a bit strange to pretend to be a Charlton fan whilst constantly posting about Millwall? I mean, at least with me you know what you’re getting, clues in the name 😁jimmymelrose said:

Some of you really need to give your heads a wobble and wise up! We’ve got @MillwallFan coming on here, who is after all what it says on the tin, and talking more sense than a lot of you. It’s embarrassing lads 🥺MillwallFan said:

Same division not same boat imo two clubs gone up with more budget one of which you could say already powerful enough to compete and the rest have more experience in the championship and their squad than us,how ever way we sugar coat it.2

Yes you’re not in the same boat because you’re starting from a lower base point.Callumcafc said:

Birmingham could genuinely get away with not signing any players and still do well, they will of course sign more though.
Wrexham also have more championship capable players on paper than us I would say, we also know they are offering more cause Methven was pretty clear on that, we just have a better manager. Unless Parkinson surprises us all in the Champ.
Our foundation is much weaker than the top half projected Championship sides I would say.MillwallFan said:

At one point we would lose to yous cause we have no bottle, and it is just a part of life, now on paper in terms of squad quality you trump us along with the curse.
We of course need signings more than anyone else in the league, so comparing our transfer activity to teams with ready made championship sides is pretty pointless imo.3 -
Would rather have our squad than Wrexham's. Too many older over the hill players they'll need to replace and not convinced Parky is going to last if things started badly. Ryan Hardie is a decent signing but they're going to need a serious clear out.1
-
Could also say we got spanked by this team with over the hill players only 2 months ago after us only having 2 starters out,no doubt they will spend and over haul in key areas again.MarcusH26 said:Would rather have our squad than Wrexham's. We were effectively playing with 10 though, Lloydy couldn’t move and it was Smith’s movement that did for us.Steven81 said:

On the over the hill aspect, Championship football is going to be much more physically demanding for Wrexham. They’re going from a team opposition will sit back against to a team that will be attacked relentlessly, the older you are the harder that is to do.
No doubt they’ll spend to fix it but they’ll have to change tack, going for lots of 30+ year olds won’t work in the Championship7 -
Not too sure about that.MarcusH26 said:Would rather have our squad than Wrexham's. Too many older over the hill players they'll need to replace and not convinced Parky is going to last if things started badly. Ryan Hardie is a decent signing but they're going to need a serious clear out.
Sam Smith, Ryan Hardie, Max Cleworth, Arthur Okonkwo, Oli Rathbone, James McClean, Ryan Barnett, are all good players. Then our ex- players like Dobson and O'Connell have done really well there.
There's also the fact they finished 7 points above us, didn't lose to us and absolutely demolished us at their place if we are honest. I don't see how we have the better squad in these circumstances.
I am done with underestimating them personally. They were the most rounded team other than Birmingham I saw us play all season, and their home support was miles better than any other ground I visited. They're in a great position footballing wise.3 -
I think their tactics of mainly throwing money at older players is really going to come unstuck. This will be the first time their financial clout and ability to outspend most of the division won't necessarily work for them. They'll probably sign a few veterans or Welsh internationals but that squad is going to need to get significantly younger to compete.fenaddick said:
