To be fair Yann never missed, in terms of the actual target... He just didn't twat the ball properly, making it an easy saveBraziliance said:swords_alive said:Absolute no for Tanto Olaofe for me. Sorry if already posted.
It was him that missed the big chance in the third minute of injury time against Orient in the home leg semi and they went on to lose on pens of course. Made himself space then blasted over. I said to myself at the time (as was watching alone, so i was my only witness), "that is a sackable miss". I was disturbed/ annoyed that a professional football would take that chance in that fashion.

A reminder to people that fees are quoted at their full amount but they will almost always be paid in instalments or have conditional fees to reach the top end. If Olaofe is '£2m' I would be incredibly surprised if some of that wasn't add ons. Goals scored, appearances etc so the cost would potentially be split across a couple of seasons' budget2

Give me the name of any player that’s not missed a big chance at some point. I dare you.swords_alive said:Absolute no for Tanto Olaofe for me. Sorry if already posted.

I think some misses are unforgivable. If it was Yann for Leicester fans, I think I now understand that seeing TO's miss v Orient. It was injury time. Chance of Wembley and he does that.
If he did that in a charlton shirt I'd want him shipped out in the next window and maybe that's what they are doing.6 -
Weird how people are obsessed with him missing that one chance but not him scoring a fucking back heel flick at 1min 10 to level the tie and get them to penalties in the first place. Every striker misses chances but he was the only thing Stockport had that day that Orient couldn't deal with. Even the miss was him outmuscling a centre back, taking it past another and just not applying the finish. All strikers miss chances but not all strikers carry such a pace and power threatswords_alive said:Absolute no for Tanto Olaofe for me. Sorry if already posted.

Just watched that! Brilliant for the goal. Not exactly miss of the season either. Was expecting to see him miss an open goal. Looks like it deflects off the defender tbf. That wasnt a sitter.Garrymanilow said:

'Apparently in the know' so our 'in the knows' are not good enough, we are now relying on another club's 'in the knows' . Look at it another way, it may be very possible that Stockport are looking to pay the bills, they have been smart enough to put this fella on a long contract, letting the world know that Charlton are interested is a way of drumming up interest and getting a fee that suits Stockport's ambition. They have now seen the silly money that's been talked about regarding Galbraith since Orient announced the Charlton offer, so Stockport think 3 million, that will do very nicely. So sorry, I am not prepared to believe a thing till a deal is done.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
It's been given legs because the guy who posted it on the Stockport forum is apparently in the know and another poster said that if he's posting it then it's usually spot on info.Bailey said:Here we go again, this one has been given legs because he comes from the area, posters desperation in signing someone that they have highlighted is now just silly.
It's not exactly Fabrizio Romano announcing that Real Madrid are after a player.13 -

I really don't have any idea if we actually are interested in this player or not. But he does very much sound like the TYPE of player we seem to be looking for - proven at L1, early to mid 20s, with the potential to step up/break through at Championship level and with both skill and physicality.
It might all be hokum but I would be surprised if we hadn't at least sounded it out even if ultimately it doesn't go through0 -
The player has 2 years left on his contract - obviously that makes him worth more than on a 1 year remaining contract.Chunes said:
I don't think 750k is a low fee in L1... I think it will be one of the top 10 sales of the year. I'm not sure Olaofe has done enough to prove himself one of the top 10 players.Braziliance said:
It would be, but not for a 6 figure fee. These quoted fees of 2 million, 2.5 million, 1.5 million etc for these players we are being linked with are the going rate. Need to remember as well Millwall have a sell on fee for Tanto so they'll want to consider that.Chunes said:
Right but if he's an owner who's not willing to splash cash, that would mean an injection of a fee would be an attractive proposition, rather than something they 100% would not care about.Braziliance said:
Barnsley's owners are extremely rich, you don't see them splashing much cash either. Just because someone owns a football club, doesn't mean they put all their money into it.Chunes said:
I just googled him and he doesn't seem that rich...? Plus they have not spent much money since he took over. Only three fees paid in five years.Braziliance said:
They will laugh at that fee. Their owner is absolutely loaded/owns businesses that do a lot of trade, and has a lot of ambition for Stockport. He's a Man City fan and a local (so I've been told) who bought Stockport cause he wanted to be involved with football but has completely fell in love with the club.Swisdom said:

Do you think Olaofe is worth 2 million?Swisdom said:
We paid between £300 - 400k for Ahadme up front with the rest based on appearances and other factorsChunes said:
I remember reading the same about Ahadme when we signed him for an inflated price!MrBurns said:
If he does well for us then his resale could be 5 million plus and he hasn't reached his prime yet. I don't think we can stick to just freebies and loans. For Championship clubs a million isn't a lot for one player (same for a few League one clubs)Bostonaddick said:He is strong, athletic, is good at pressing and has very little skill and is not a good finisher. Sounds like a reserve player. Do you pay 1 million for someone is only going to play 20 minutes a game?
we wanted him to go on loan on January but he refused and wanted to stay and fight
id be very surprised if he gets much game time in the championship for us
be could be in time but at the moment he’s a bit too raw
but he could be one of those that steps up a level and really fits in well as he has excellent pace and power. And for that reason he could be a good punt. I would think stockpot would struggle to resist £750k to be honest
All their sponsors are businesses he owns. Their main sponsor traded 2.2 billion a few years ago. 750k isn't going to make him start shaking.
750k is unrealistic and cheeky for a player under contract that the club doesn't need to sell. As an example again, think about our team. We have players like TC, Ramsay, Coventry, Edwards, all in their early to mid twenties, all playing really well. If a club offered 750k for any of those, and the club listened, would people on here actually think that would be acceptable or that the club would take an offer like that seriously?
Don't go into your local supermarket I'd say to anyone who thinks these rumoured fees are a lot, the price for a pint of milk might floor you.
Unless you do your scouting work and find a talent (like Edwards & Ramsay) it is dreamworld to think you can buy a good player under contract from a sustainable club for such low fees. This is the market now, like it or not.
The quoted fees for all the players we have been linked with are good value when you compare them to football transfer fees floating around.
I'm not saying they will accept 750k but I really question the idea that 2 million would be the going rate for someone like him.
Millwall has a sizeable sell-on clause written in - in effect, we would be paying that.
Stockport are sufficiently financially secure that even if they are willing to sell they can negotiate from a strong position.
In fact they hold most of the cards when it comes to size of transfer fee required to let their player leave.
If we want the player, we pay whatever fee Stockport will accept.

Morris would’ve been an ideal signing. Superb signing for Derby5

So glad I didn't put anymore effort into editing my Charlton summer transfer window options video.
Here was my list:
All of them have either been linked with us or have moved away, or in the process.3 -
Assume the fee for Morris is between £5-£15m?23

Light , would want at least 4-5 more on top of that at least . Don't want to be relying on u21s to plug gapsYannTheMann said:If we were to sign Offiah, L.Thompson & Olafe. How would we think our squad is looking after those 3?5 -
