Apparently it's based off the pattern on old school biscuit tins.

    Were they made in Reading?

Apparently so! Something I never knew.

This season’s home kit takes its inspiration from one of Reading’s most iconic legacies: Huntley & Palmers. For over 150 years, the company sold thousands of biscuits across Britain and the world, with their distinctive tins carrying the name of our town to every corner of the world. So strong was this connection, Reading became synonymous with biscuits – and the football club became affectionately known as The Biscuitmen.

Our 2025/26 kit pays homage to this legacy with a striking design that reimagines the club’s signature hoops to echo the decorative Victorian-style biscuit tins once found in homes worldwide. It’s a look that proudly reconnects us with our origins, after a time when remembering who we are has felt more important than ever.

Weird fact.   Despite their name, Huntley and Palmers were actually formed by 3 Welsh sisters.  Diana, Jessica & Tiffiny Jones.

Or as they preferred to be known - Di, Jess & Tiff.

Isn't one of their other nicknames the biscuit men? It's different, I'll give them that!

That Reading kit is an abomination.

“For over 150 years, the company sold thousands of biscuits across Britain and the world”.

No wonder they aren’t around any more.

I was just going to order the new shirt online, but I’m glad I popped down to the club shop — the material’s so shocking I’m convinced they ordered them off Temu during their lunch break!

That Reading kit looks like the result of a W1A blue sky brainstorm.
Marketing execs not fans disappearing up their own bum holes without ever asking the average fan what they think.
Then slap Select Car Leasing in the middle of the biscuit tribute. Bad…

Absolutely this, the one I ordered for my dad arrived yesterday and I'm staying well clear. Might get a Jamaica one instead.

Honestly think this is a class kit. They’ve tried to do something different and I think it works. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I think it’s great

The new red looks more historically correct.

Everyone I know who's either bought one or had been into the shop and seen the new shirt in the flesh, has said the quality/material is poor, and the stitching is terrible in some cases. The kids kits also have the sponsor & logos as part of the shirt itself rather than printed on, which just looks naff especially for £50.

Really disappointing! The Castore quality was rubbish in terms of the sponsor/badges falling off but I actually felt the material of the shirts was pretty good. Expected much better from Reebok!

That’s poor on the kid’s kits. Especially for 7+ year olds when you’re shelling out £75+ for the full kit.

I kind of like how mental the reading kit is, good to go a bit silly every now and then and makes going back to the standard less boring

I might be wrong but I’m not sure it’s manufactured directly by Reebok but licenced to another company to use the name. Anyone know?

If true, that would explain why the knock off companies are already producing them.

I believe Sports Hub Group hold the licence for Reebok and New Balance over here.
