Lots of young strikers with potential being linked with us at the moment.
Nothing wrong with that.
But I'd still like to sign an experienced striker proven at championship level.10 -

Am surprised Riis hasn't rocked up at one of the newly relegated sides yet. Very good player.John_Fitzpatrick1 said:

Elijah Adebayo or Carlton Morris (Despite being a c**t against us for Shrewsbury years ago) would be ideal if we were to pay a fee for a Striker.. Both were signed by Nathan Jones (and possible Chapple as well) when he was at Luton, and would be a good replacement for Chuks, albeit as a starter, and perfect to play alongside either Godden / Campbell2

adebayo is a no from me, done his ACL in April. Morris however I'd love.ForeverAddickted said:Elijah Adebayo or Carlton Morris (Despite being a c**t against us for Shrewsbury years ago) would be ideal if we were to pay a fee for a Striker.. Riis, yes .. Bundu, no, not prolific enough (goals lol) for meJohn_Fitzpatrick1 said:

Bundu got 10 Championship goals and 6 assists for a relegated side while often not playing as a centre forward. Hardly something we should be turning our noses up at. We'd be lucky to get a player with that level of goal involvements in the league we're going into7

Wanted us to sign Morris every year after those Shrewsbury games. He was such a handfulForeverAddickted said:Elijah Adebayo or Carlton Morris (Despite being a c**t against us for Shrewsbury years ago) would be ideal if we were to pay a fee for a Striker.. I think he might be out of our price range though, 11 goals in the prem and 20 in the championship the year before that. Would imagine there’d be a lot of interest even though he didn’t do well last seasonn1 -

It's hard with the relegated Luton squad to really know what kind of fees they would still command. Carlton Morris would definitely be a target for me if the fee was sensible but I agree with Naby above that it's unlikely to be one we can afford.3

Something might happen between now and Saturday but seeing the person I know at Brighton this weekend. Anything I find out I’ll let you knowfenaddick said:

Agree with that. Wonder if the original post is referencing Eiran Cashin rather than Odel Offiah?Pelling1993 said:

Carlton Morris would quite literally be the perfect player for us. He is everything Nathan Jones wants in a striker.
If there was any player we were willing to break the bank over, it should be him. Great role model for our young forwards and would allow us to protect Godden a bit who can't be expected to play all 46. You have those two as options in the champ and you're laughing.
The kind of signing if we make you can start to feel a bit more confident about the upcoming season. Unfortunately I think he will well be out of our range.11 -

I feel if Jones signs them, we can safely assume their personality won't be an issue. All of our players attitudes are spot on currently, doesn't seem to be any bad eggs. I'm sure he can lean into Karoy & Dixon for a bit of background on Malik as well.thenewbie said:
I can see it as being plausible honestly. There are (apparently) questions about attitude etc but possibly Jones is backing himself to sort that out and hopefully turn "potential" into productive player.Braziliance said:An alternative view is as much as FLW have been click-bait nonsense previously, recently they've got a few things right.
It's the transfer rumours thread at the end of the day, believe what you want to believe.
Mothersille has the Jamaica link and would probably integrate well, so there's that. We also need a player with a bit of trickery and pace up top. Would be a good signing if we can make it happen. Another one ready for the drop if we go down, or we sell if he has a good season.
I'm not saying it's definitely a goer but wouldn't be shocked if it does have some basis in fact either.
I think it would be a really good signing and one to get excited about, hope it's true.
Re- FLW, they have definitely waffled some crap in the past, but if you look at their recent coverage, they're clearly getting some decent intel/snippets. I wouldn't blindly believe them, but it's nice to see a rumour from an account that has been getting transfer rumours correct very recently.
Unfortunately some people will make their mind up about something/someone and be too stubborn to change their view or at least give credit where it is due. They're currently a victim of that.2 -
FWIW...... and PWR...... article in Guardian saying Liverpool willing to let Joe Gomez go this summer and he's wanted by quite a few clubs....... £30m transfer fee mentioned....... that would help the war chest!5

More to his game than goals, he would enable the rest of the team. Ball sticks with him, hard to defend against physically. It's also the experience that comes with him, a player that's been there and done it in the champ, no half measures.WillmoreTheRed said:

We need a bit of physicality up top and he would fit that role. Being blunt that's my dream forward signing for this season within reason.
Would cost about 5 million minimum and the rest though.1 -

Don't know how true but apparently Sheffield United put in a £2.1 million bid for Galbraith.
Just to be clear, I mean the Sheffield United interest. That James account is probably a teenager. Sheffield United are interested though, so not sure if they bid:

Interesting as they have just sacked Wilder. Cant imagine anyone will go there until manager issue is sorted.Braziliance said:https://x.com/JamesHTAFC19/status/1935348956067938364?t=fwv5zuKTxjSOx68KywQXeg&s=19

Sheff Utd are changing managers so I doubt they will be bringing anyone in until a new man in chargeBraziliance said:https://x.com/JamesHTAFC19/status/1935348956067938364?t=fwv5zuKTxjSOx68KywQXeg&s=19

The reason Wilder is going is because he didn’t like their desire for AI scouting (wonder if it throws up lots of twins?) which suggests to me their recruitment drive will keep going, if a player wants to sign for a managerless team is a different question though3

Ricky Holmes still going strong been named as player /coach of Chelmsford16

Depends what database you use. Some have him down as 5 million (transfermarkt, capology) some as high as 15 million (fotmob).Garrymanilow said:

I'd say based on the market he's worth around that minimum. 29 years old, prem experience, championship proven, English, under contract, etc.
You know you have one of the most powerful information tools in your hands. Could always just search yourself rather than ask me who is just reading off of a page.0 -
They are the only two season in his career where he has reached double figures. I’m not sure that was his peak and he is now on the way downNabySarr said:

Never heard of him but judging from a couple of youtube videos I imagine he'll be the next big money departure from the Posh, probably too expensive for us. Having said that we've bought many duds where a youtube vid makes them look like the new RonaldoCallumcafc said:
