I think Goodman played 2nd half of PSF against JJs boys. Looked decent and commanding. Denied Godden an almost certain goal.0

Some people would say that’s how we playcantersaddick said:
God no. Scumbag anti football merchant. Proper league 1 clogger. No real ability on the ball.robinofottershaw said:Probably not as good as Small on the attacking front but quite like Grimmer at Wycombe as a right-back/wing back. Got a bit of attitude about him, is experienced and could see him playing at Championship level.0 -
But not Small, who he'd be replacing.AberystwythAddick said:

jose said:I thought I read some time ago that our owners don’t really have that much money, or their money is tied up in some way and not available to chuck around.
Thats why a no transfer fee signing, and getting an earner off the books makes sense.
I wonder if there is extra wages attached to the Nathan Jones extended contract, or if the extension was the attractive bit for Jones, not a wage increase.Has anyone told billionaire Joshua Friedman he doesn’t have much money.5 -

Grimmer would be a decent addition - not pretty but pretty effective6

I dont think aribos style would suit Jones - a bit too easy osey0

Think Southampton would want to build around Aribo. I doubt they'll keep Matheus Fernandes as he'll have PL interest so the likes of Aribo will be key for them.
Just had a look at Southamptons squad and even if they just lost Fernandes, Walker-Peters and Tyler Dibling they are absolutely loaded with quality and experience at this level.
Doughty I suspect will be a target for the relegated PL sides , potentially Ipswich if they lose Leif Davis?0 -
That probably makes them both rumours then as nothing has been substantiated on either front. The Red Robin said:
Famewo is an actual rumour isn’t it? The Dijksteel talk just came from someone saying they’d like him back. Is there anything more substantial on Dijksteel than that?sam3110 said:
Famewo over Dijksteel?!Redhenry said:
Famewo may be useful but no thanks AnferneeNabySarr said:
That was 6 years ago! Players are capable of getting better, especially younger ones. Same with Famewo, they aren’t the same players that played for us in league 1, they are championship footballers which is what we needRedhenry said:
Think some have forgotten about him tbh.Starinnaddick said:Would Dijksteel fit in on the right hand side?
passing was poor, couldn’t head the ball, his pace often got him out of trouble. Also now injury prone.
This won’t happen!

I can’t help noticing that we seem to be talking way too much about signing ex-players…..curious if you ask me.🤔20

Saw something about Leaburn to Newcastle..probably a Facebook wind up4

Can’t see any way that Miles would be on Newcastle’s radar. Not at this point anyway.lolwray said:Saw something about Leaburn to Newcastle..probably a Facebook wind up5 -

Let's hope the Mulligan 'thing' is still alive and not on life support or on a mortuary slab3

Or it could that it was the first day Small was back from his holiday …. cause it seems from people in the club that he told the club he was going day after the final ..Scoham said:
Clubs tend to announce deals at exactly the same time, so yes it was likely agreed between us and Preston.RonnieMoore said:
Fact is do you honestly think we got control over PNE media team and told them when to announce Small ….cfgs said:
You are obviously the ITK person in existence Colin, first with the news Sonny has changed his mind and isn't joining now.RonnieMoore said:

Just a quick update on Roughan. He has rejected Lincoln's contract offer, and Lincoln had agreed a compensation package (due to his age) with an unnamed club; Roughan has declined to join that club and awaits further offers.AberystwythAddick said:Sean Roughan more realistic, I think he would be an excellent signing12 -
It's crazy isn't it. That said Callum Harriot, Morgan Fox and Jordan Cousins could all do a job for us.SoundAsa£ said:I can’t help noticing that we seem to be talking way too much about signing ex-players…..curious if you ask me.🤔15 -
Grimmer is a good player, and his "ugliness" is exaggerated just because he blotted out Campbell - sour grapes. (And his surname does not help).DOUCHER said:Grimmer would be a decent addition - not pretty but pretty effective
But I think he is best in a back four. How often will we play that way?1 -
Looking for a champ gig isn’t he. Looks like that team was probably Bolton, I would guess that a team like us or around what we are aiming to achieve would be all over him.NorthernLights said:

Apparently so. He does have a high opinion of his own ability - we had something similar the last time he was out of contract in 2023, and he had to re-sign eventually when there were no takers. He had trials with Southampton and Chelsea in 2021, so I suspect that increased his sense of self-worth. We have had him for six years, and it appears the compensation payable will put off a few clubs.AberystwythAddick said:

Played every minute of every league game last season, an unusual achievement in these days of rotation and over-sensitivity with injuries.
The club he has rejected is probably the likes of Bolton or Huddersfield, as you suggest. Charlton or similar would be the right destination for him, but you do wonder what these lads are being told by their agents.14 -
Can only hope then, by all accounts he was brilliant last year. Be a shame for your lot to lose him and O’ConnorNorthernLights said:

It’s because the club leak a lot less than you used to. Unless you have loads of time on your hands you won’t have watched enough EFL football to identify targets so people naturally, and understandably, go back to ex players they remember. The link to Famewo has fanned the flames too. I think that’s probably agent chatter thoughSoundAsa£ said:I can’t help noticing that we seem to be talking way too much about signing ex-players…..curious if you ask me.🤔1 -
That was my thinking. I checked back at Wycombe’s team formations over the course of the season per the BBC and when they played 3 centre backs he has been part of a midfield 4 in front of that, but has also played RCB in a 3 and RB when 4 at the back, ie versatile.DOUCHER said:Grimmer would be a decent addition - not pretty but pretty effective
May have different attributes to Small but think he could play at Championship level if Jones varies his formation.0
