Charlton autograph identification thread

Looking at this signed shirt on @Medders ' Signed PROMOTION WINNING SQUAD shirt up for grabs, for Cancer Research thread reminded me that we spent some time in lockdown trying to confirm the autographs of various former players, and adding them to @Stig's reference thread so we could refer back to them later. Given that most of the signatures on this shirt are fairly illegible, I thought it would be useful to try to confirm the relevant signatories, and use this summer break as an opportunity to try to get confirmation of more autographs of former players for future reference

Above and to the right of Edwards is LJ for Lloyd Jones (5)

Next to that might be MilesL for Leaburn, and an 11? But that's a semi-educated guess at the moment

I have a signed football that I really need to go through. That reference thread will be invaluable. I really wish I hadn't lost my old autograph book that I took around the VIP lounge back in the early 90s. I had almost every player in there, plus Karl Howman who actually thanked me for recognising him!

@Fiiiiish if you want to photograph the signatures and add them to the thread, we can give it a go. What era is it from?

Thank you. It must be from around 1995-2000. I really can't remember how I ended up with it. My dad had one as a raffle prize for the junior football club he managed, and I think he managed to get an additional one for me. I'll go and photograph them in a bit... On this thread?

Ok, I have dated it to the 1999-2000 Season, as it includes the obvious autograph of Mark McCammon, who played only 5 times for us in that season. Individual autographs to follow.

@Stig may want some of these for his reference thread.

Ones on there that I have identified already (so won't upload unless anyone wants to see them) (numbering is just my own reference) -

06 - Thank the lord for Mark McCammon, who enabled me to date this football perfectly!

Oh and we're going to need a picture of the "Matt Jones" one, cos I've got no clue who that is - could it be Mattias Svensson or Steve Jones?

Pretty sure 4 is Keith Jones  - compare with https://charltonlife.vanillacommunity.com/discussion/comment/3893568/#Comment_3893568. 5's not quite identical but close enough to the John Barnes one, 8 is Anthony Barness, and 14 is Bradley Allen

Nice one. I meant to say Steve Jones! :D

These might give some clues for the current squad if we were unsure on any of them

The museum started a book of examples during lock down along with a couple of other collectors showcasing examples of players from 1921 - 2021. So far we have catalogued around 50% of the players.

If there is a demand I will ressurect the project.

It's a nice hobby, these days people want selfies, but I have always collected signatures and particularly enjoyed getting programmes and other memorabilia signed.
I still do at 59 years of age tbh.
