Goal line technology

After years of demanding it, goal line technology is finally used for Man City's first goal against Cardiff.

The Cardiff fans responded to this historical desicion by starting a mass brawl on the terrace.

It was like being back to the 80s on five live when the commentators ignored the game and gave an in depth commentary on the aggro!

Floodlights will need brightening up massively for it to work for evening games

I see they are also getting ready for the new multi-goal ‘match experience enhancement’ that is being trialled in the Championship next season.

Just a few years too late for Geoff Thomas.

Looks like a goal to me. Ball definitely over the line

Believe the goal line tech stuff has actually been there all season but just not used for decisions

Isn't it electronic rather than visual?

The club are aware and have numerous proposals in hand in this regard.  Just needs someone to sign it off

All camera based, 5 to 7 on each goal, works well in normal light, needs pretty bright, especially around the goals, floodlighting to make it work well in low light. Hence why Premier League grounds are lit up brighter then the sun (that and UHD camera requirements)

There was a game in the 1960's when goal line technology would've proved a ball was on the line and not over the line and instead of a hat trick, just a brace or even just the one goal as there were people on the pitch and the last goal would now be disallowed for elf and safety reasons before the ball ripped into the net.
