Can we add that and ‘football league world’ as banned from the rumours thread. Just clickbait bollocks
It's even worse, at least FLW pretend to be credible

Our number one target should be Harvey Knibbs of Reading he can play number 10 or the Campbell role
Just signed a new long term contract with Reading so very much doubt we'd get him...

NJ doesn't like loans. We have no right to doubt him after the season we've had.

And he's right. Good coaching makes another team better, not us...

If it's not coming from a local journo or Pete O'Rourke/Football Insider it's probably bollocks. So many of these websites and accounts on X that just throw out the most stupid outlandish claims.

Article also mentions we want to make a strong push for promotion from League 1. Thank fuck we got promoted and that isn’t the case.

Kwame Poku is also out of contract this summer.  I recommended him to Gallen when he was breaking through at Colchester United several years ago.  He’s definitely worth a look but it seems Birmingham are in pole position
Read earlier that over 20 clubs have expressed an interest in him, no chance we get him
It was. Sorry Fry they said 26 clubs so it’s going to be absolute bollocks.

Poku started off at Cray Wanderers and is from Croydon so it’s not impossible he won’t already know some of our boys.
It’s a long shot but it’s not beyond the realms of possible

This tallies with the earlier comment that the club had four player lined up.

Even O’Rourke/Football Insider appear to be a voice for agents most of the time nowadays and a bit more clickbaity

Same forum has others saying he's definitely signing for Rangers, has unfollowed Celtic stuff online in preparation etc.

So basically it's the same as any other forum and they know as much as we do, I guess!

Sky Sports can confirm that Charlton Athletic are in advanced transfer negotiations with Oldham Athletic over a potential £345,000 deal. The talks centre around a key player from the National League side …
I cant see an Ethan Vaughan that plays for Oldham?

No one by that name was in their Play-Off matches
Double checked and yes there is no player with that name ?? who is their key player ?
This link mentions Ethan Vaughan though...

    So imagine its bullshit

As far as I can see, only Lewis Wing has signed an extension recently (for 3 years).  Knibbs has one year left on his 2023 three year deal.

No one by that name was in their Play-Off matches - There was a Harry Vaughan who played for them, but he moved to Hull in 2023.
I Googled that quote. It comes up from a site called Sportslensnewsnow which has also informed us that SKY CONFIRM that Wrexham are in talks with Wimbledon for a - get this - £345,000 deal for one of their key players. Curiously specific! Also Sky has confirmed none of these things, it's a troll site for trolls to troll with.
They did the same the other day when someone posted the link about Lloyd’s £1.9m deal…the next story was about a £1.9m transfer from Palace to Everton. Turned out to be a £32m deal for Mateta…awful clickbait site plastered with pop up ads.

I read in in the Plymouth Herold. Don’t tell anybody though as the edition doesn’t come out until next Monday.

it also mentions Charlton are interested in Macauley Gillesphey. Personally I think he would work well alongside Terrell Thomas and Lucas Ness.

Mulligan sounds like a typical jones signing from what I’ve read but it’s definitely a pity Rangers are in the mix. Hard to think a Scots lad not wanting to play for one of the big two in The SPL given the opportunity.

I also find it hard to believe he agreed a PCA a while ago, no way you're potentially joining league one as we were a while ago when Rangers are interested.

I wouldn't like to play for Rangers or Celtic, sure you get to win most games and get a bit of a run out in Europe, but the rest of the time you're just playing against cloggers and never-will-bes for the most part.
Much better off coming to the Championship and trying to get a break to get to the Prem

The Kelman love in is a bit strange to me. Yes, hes scored goals but this was his first season of doing so. Record before that was awful so not even remotely proven.

League 1 I would take a punt but Championship and are obvious lack of depth up top, it is too risky IMO.
I’d rather take a punt on Kone but think they will want silly money.

Go in for Olaofe at Stockport

Locally Rangers are very keen on signing Mulligan but without a manager in place, they can't progress.
Looks like it might be down to the player if he wants to wait for Rangers with no certainty a new manager will want him.
Looks like a Jones type of player though and would be at minimal cost.

Stockport fans don’t think Olaofe is good enough to lead this line

£7 million bid from Luton rejected last season, bet they're kicking themselves.

From when the window closed, and the remaining 15 games he played where he was available, he scored 2 goals and got 3 assists. Prior to that, he got 16 goals in 28 games.

He completely fell apart, and I imagine it put a dent in his market value.

I wouldn't mind seeing us sign him though for the right price that said. He is quick, he's shown at some stage he can find the net, and he can spin a centre back.

Hard to judge him too much from our excellent defence. Only striker I really thought gave us hell was Sam Smith, the Rotherham forwards (bad day at the office) and same as Peterboroughs forward line on that blip day.

    Loads of good freebies there.

Sonny Carey - Attacking mid, 6 foot plus, can take a player on, knows where the net is. Bit inconsistent but better than all our midfield options bar one imo.

Sean Roughan - Started all 46 games for Lincoln last season and played over 4000 minutes of football. Can play left back or left centre back. Good competition for Edwards and Macca

Ricardo Santos - good ball playing centre back, absolute unit and bullies strikers. Off season but I'd trust Jonesy to sort him out. Good competition for Lloydy and could honestly work his way into our starting XI if he found his form from 2 seasons ago.

Paudie O'Connor - Very similar to Jonesy in stature. Threat from set pieces, 3 goals and 5 assists. Doesn't lose many headers. Lloyd Jones the only better pure defender than him this season statistically. Could be good option when we are up against it.

Nathan Baxter - Lost his way a bit, but ex-Chelsea and a good shot stopper. If we can't afford the wages of an older no.1, Baxter and Mannion would be a decent duo to pick from imo.

I'd be happy with any/all of those.

I know we are the league above, but all have proven they can perform at a top league1 level and would all be sensible wages.

Apparently O'Connor has had championship interest, Santos does, Baxter is being linked with Watford as a back up goalie, and I think Carey hasn't signed with Blackpool yet as he's hoping for a move.

Did Kone fall apart, or did the turgid football Wycombe play under Dodds have a significant part to play? Chairboys fans seem to the think latter more so than the former.

Whether we'd be able to capture his best is a slightly different question. I admittedly haven't watched enough Wycombe to know if Kone would be a good fit to how we intend to play, or indeed, if we could adapt our style easily enough to get the best out of him and vice versa.

I suspect, though, the "right price" won't exist for us in any case, so this is a bit academic.
