Overseas fans flying in - where from?

I hadn't added you, as i wasn't sure you came over for the game but if you fly back next day that's the evidence. Thailand added!stoneroses19 said:In awe of those coming from Australia/New Zealand.I'm over from Thailand and thought that was a long enough journey for play offs.Well done all international Addicks 👏3 -
Somebody else coming from Perth in the WA group.! I'll tell him when you land, just in case we can take over this flight like the Calgary oneEirik Bakke said:Flying in from Perth, land Friday lunchtime and back for just under a week.

Flying in from Perth, Western Australia too. Landing on the Thursday! There for 8 days.Eirik Bakke said:Flying in from Perth, land Friday lunchtime and back for just under a week.4 -

When I have time I'll check out the distances for each. I reckon the Brisbane gang may be the eventual winners of that.
Maybe towards the weekend some smart Lifer could do a map of it. That would make a good Tweet for the club account.
I'll try and pull together the WhatsApp crew. I think there may be an international Facebook group with different people, I don't really do FB so maybe somebody could check it out.Calgary x 2

The club are going to be pretty disappointed. The data they've seen from Charlton TV suggests a lot more Charlton fans live overseas.44
-
These guys are putting me to shame, Im coming from Woolwich!4
-
Finding out on Tuesday if I can get the time off to come, sadly term time holiday is a pretty hard one to swing.1
-
Whatever gave you that idea 🤣. Moved from London to Chicago and took the moniker and have since lived for a fair time in Bermuda, but now in Sarasota, Florida.Gribbo said:
Not sure why, but always thought you were over Chicago way @ChicagoAddick ?ChicagoAddick said:Flying in from Florida. Arrive Friday, leave Monday.1 -
I don't know why the Edmonton guy is being applauded, it's a train into Liverpool Street, then the tube.

My dad and me will be flying in from Cork as well, landing at Stansted late Saturday and flying back late Sunday. I was planning on getting to the playoff first leg, had flights organised for London and Manchester and then they moved the game to Sunday and I couldn't make it work.4

Gutted not to be able to make it to Wembley for the game, but medical appointments and à funeral mean that I am destined to stay here and watch the game on CharltonTV!PragueAddick said:
I know Stuart and he is on the WA group but last time he posted he was indicating not coming. Maybe like me he's had a word with himself..LargeAddick said:
My brother and his two boys are coming from an hour south of Nantes. @Stuart_the_Red is coming but I don’t know where he lives in France.PragueAddick said:
And they are on the list now, and probably the current distance winners.PrincessFiona said:
I thought I saw 3 from Brisbane earlier?PragueAddick said:
It's kind of you too, but when I saw your post, and I see Calgary, Vancouver, Florida, Perth, I felt a bit ashamed. In a different type of thread I was fond of pointing out that with a fair wind a plane will get to Prague as quick as one heading for Aberdeen.Callumcafc said:
Appreciate it but as Elfs said, you’re 100% proper Charlton, no questions asked on that front.PragueAddick said:
I told myself I wouldn't go this time, for various reasons, still hobbling a bit after a toe op; feeling that after 2019 and 1998 I'd find out what the Sunderland felt like; trip arranged the following week, blah, blah. Then Thursday happened and all the aftermath on here. But it was Callum's post that tipped me over the age. The shit he got on here in the autumn, including from me reluctantly, yet he gets himself over from Texas and I can't manage it from Prague? And I call myself a proper supporter?Callumcafc said:In from Texas, also for less than 48 hours.
I had a word with myself. In on Saturday afternoon, fly back to Berlin on Monday, thus keeping my trip to the Baltic seaside on track. And doing the full hospitality thing at Wembley for the family again like in 2019.
Can't wait!
Perth?? That's got to be the longest so far, although I guess Vancouver will be close. Absolutely fantastic.
It would be a good idea to collect the list of international fans and destinations from here and from the IA WhatsApp group, and pass the eventual complete list to Tom Rubashow to pass on. It could help bolster commitment to Charlton.
I'll take that on. My penance for initially being such a wuzz.
Lovely to read about people flying in from over seas but also flying down or training it in from all of teh UK too
@LargeAddick can you help update the French list, that's your brother @jimmymelrose from Nantes, isn't it? Are there others you know of
And btw he and @jimmymelrose must live quite close to each other. He was on the Ile d'Oleron, we stayed in one of their apartments last summer, but they sold up, moved to the Vendee somewhere
I’m 30 minutes south of Nantes in Montaigu-Vendée.3 -

LOL! definitely two separate events in two different Places!3 -
How is this for 1st draft of international mapping of fans. Can update when we have a firmer list.
Will try to do a couple of things
1. Make the lines thicker based on # of people on that route
2. Better labels for the 'from' locations

All feedback appreciated.7 -

D’oh! I should have guessed.
See you for a pint some time during next Sunday 🍻1 -

Will it be expandable at all, so that people can see more of the European destinations?
And if the blue could be changed to red, of course...

You can zoom in and out of the map as detailed as you want, either use the zoom buttons top left or scroll wheel on mouse. I can set the default zoom to be European focused.
I will set the lines to Charlton Red (which is #d4021d Hex Color Code for all colour nerds out there).

Probably be a lot harder to do, but be great to see where UK people will be travelling from.BalladMan said:How is this for 1st draft of international mapping of fans. Can update when we have a firmer list.

Updated list with some from the WhatsApp group. I am not sure if it really matters but if we can narrow it to the airport you fly from, so @Callumcafc and @ChicagoAddick let us know your airport, it might just catch somebody else's eye. Isn't one of our owners Texas based?
