I went for a "pie n mash" at full time and the East Stand khazi was completely empty. Reminded me very much of the Crawley game!
East standers must have better bladder control than the rest of the ground. I went for a final drain off 15 minutes before kick off and there was only one other in there.
Colostomy bag is your answer there...
    Don't take the piss
  • On NJ at full-time, his reaction is purely human. He is a person who lives for this. He is 100% all in at Charlton. I firmly believe, that right now, there isn't a single fan that feels the joy of the win last night, more that NJ.

A lot is said about whether people like him. The sky commentator said to him post match, they are all singing your name, to which he promptly retorted, that they were wanting him sacked in November. He quickly explains that a season isnt won or lost in January, it is at the end if the season that it all matters. He went in to speak of his faith in God and how at full time, he dropped to his knees and was thanking God.

I say let him be eccentric and odd. I would rather him with his overblown passion, than 'Mr I keep my hands in my pockets' looking like he's at a funeral on the touchline.

As for other fans being sniffy about the scenes at full-time, well any fan who has been through it with their club, will get the emotions and why the celebrations were so OTT. This club might not have won anything yet this season, but it has gone a long way to winning back the hearts of many a fan that had got disillusioned by the decline and lack of care from owners and managers for too many years.

Well said my friend. Couldn’t agree more. 👍

    Comode.

I bet the new White Hart Lane has got them. It's got everything else.
    Apart from a Trophy (yet…!!)

Still not fully sure why Lloyd was up there as my nerves were too distracting but my god I'm glad he was
He was up there for the free kick we had just before which got cleared straight back to Gillesphy for another go.
  • I thought Karoys performance was like watching a man possessed.... Probably the best 10 minutes he will ever play..

I also enjoyed the game, we at least tried to play football by passing but Wycombe were so typical of a park the bus team.

Yes Orient will not be easy but with TC and Small using the width of Wembley it could be the difference.

I really want to get promoted now but if it wasn't to be I'd still be pleased to get this far after such a difficult first half of the season but either way the Board will have to step up in oder to stay up or get us up as quality players are not cheap.
Immense performance, but just wait until next Sunday. He'll be special at Wembley.

did anyone see NJ winding Chuks up just before coming on, literally going bat shit chest pumping right in his face
I said last night, Chuks should have walked up to Leahy and tap on the shoulder and said remember me.
he would have fell over screaming, clutching his throat....

    ...and probably shat his pants!
  • Just got home to bed. Brilliant! All roads north seemed to be closed for roadworks, nearly had to go through Wycombe. UTA
Didn’t get home until 2.30 - road closures all over the shop and ended up in the centre of Wycombe!  Diversion signs were very unclear at 1am and my sat nav kept trying to direct me back to roads that were closed!
  • Just well done boys and let’s finish the job at Wembley ! Jones - love your passion !

On the atmosphere. I've supported Charlton for 35 years or so. Last night felt different.

That could be because of the many years of utter dross we've suffered in the recent past, but the air crackled with something I haven't felt personally before.

I think there's a togetherness about the manager, players and fans that hasn't been around for a while, and that might be what feels different. It feels to me like the old Charlton with something extra that reflects the end of the fractious period of mis management and fan protests maybe?
I think the difference is that there is such a large majority of Charlton fans now who are of an age who have never seen the "good" times. They've become battle hardened to the dross, they've got their own identity and this feels like its "their" time.

Ultimately we're all together in this but there are clear generations and groups of fans who have experienced different Charlton chapters. I think the biggest "attending" group now are the League One chapter.

  • I got to my Bruvs comms seat early as I didn't want to be a nuisance.
I'd already been to see Fanny in the Fans Bar and left a disgusting pint of what pretended to be IPA behind me.
It was a magnificent view and looking around I saw familiar faces from Selhurst & Upton Park.
Greg assured me that there had to be a Smith sitting in that seat and that made me very emotional (coincidentally my Bruv watched the game in a bar in Tenerife with Dohertys parents......small world or what?).
The atmosphere was amazing. There was a fella beside me controlling all the stuff going on around the pitch, he earned his money I can tell you.
I loved being able to watch Jones on the sidelines. From the chest pumping Aneke sub to the absolute arse being ripped out of the fan who threw the ball back in play too quickly, brilliant and a marked contrast to my last game which was also Micky Apples last.
I was just so grateful to be there and witness that goal and those celebrations.
Great thanks to @Curb_It and @Tavern for letting me accompany them to the Oak after and my minders for the train journey back to Woolwich Arsenal which was bouncing!
Went to breakfast this morning and there were two sets of Dad/Daughters who had been to the game. Chatting to them I got emotional.
    Miss you Dad.
    COYR ❤️
    Terry Smith wasn’t there?!!

    Wtf!!!!

Thanks for that Evesham, as when you are at the ground even with a good view near the half way just 9 rows back in the East/AC I couldn't recall how Macca was in a defensive position and Jones was the false Number 9 🤔

Lovely show but being 9 rows back with a flame machine in front does anyone know if my eyebrows will grow back 🤨
  • The flame machines had a bit of a kick!

I think I lost my eyebrows

I saw some red faces in the front two rows but not sure if that was from the flame machine  🔥🥵or they had been on a booze up since mid day. 🍻
