Chuks (p.61 - Released)

Weve used Chuks when we've been ahead too. Help keep their CBs occupied and make them waring about packing our box with big players. Keeps the ball higher up the pitchsoapboxsam said:wmcf123 said:
I’d rather we were 3-0 up after 15 minutes , sit on it comfortably and don’t need him.NabySarr said:

Agree.
If Chuks gets on for his cameo, we will probably be struggling. With many Charlton fans/critics judging players on just their last game, not their overall season, if Aneke scored a goal, an online petition would be started to give him a new contract 😱2 -
Think he comes on even if we’re winning. He hasn’t played in a match for nearly a month, a bit of rhythm is invaluable1

Agree but think either Mbick or Kanu (if he makes the bench) are used for thatkillerandflash said:

Heads away a lot of corners when he’s on as well. If we are winning then Jones will probably want him on for extra sizecantersaddick said:

Hypothetical question, if we are still in league 1 next season, would something like the below be a potential optionsoapboxsam said:wmcf123 said:

Wage: 1.5k a week (about average for L2 I believe)
Appearance fee: 1.5k a week( if Aneke is fit and playing then he will be earning an average league 1 wage)
Goal/Asisst bonus: £1k
Aneke is happy here, and clearly a good presence in the dressing room. If he was injured he’d only be costing us a small amount, but if he’s fit and playing well he can earn good money. And it’s probably a better offer than he would get elsewhere. I doubt there’s any chance this happens but just a thought4 -

If, on Thursday, we're 1- 0 up 10 minutes to go, the very LAST person I want substituted is Godden. What happens if Wycombe equalise? And we then go into extra time? (As happened last time we were in the play-offs.) And it then goes to penalties? (As happened last time we were in the play-offs.)
Who do you want to see striding up to take the first penalty? Godden or Aneke? Considering their respective records from the penalty spot?6 -
Only way Godden comes off is if we're out of sight with 10 to go11
-
There is a 10 day gap to the final so players won't need to be rested. It is more about niggles/injuries.3

No. It’s clear from the last 2-3 months Chuks is on his last legs I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t retire when his contract runs out.NabySarr said:

No pressure, but Matty Godden hasn't scored a hat trick yet this season, bring Chuks on, when Matty's stuck his 3rd in, just to wind up the Wycombe players.1

I think we’d need 90mins + ET to have time to watch Chuks run from one end to the other 😂SidewaysInOz said:All set-up nicely for him really to come on and get the winner and then do an Emmanuel Adebayor-esque celebration in front of the Wycombe fans.
Highley unlikely but you never know. It is a funny old game after all.

Probably a 50/50 chance we will be shooting towards the away end second half. Pretty sure Wycombe will turn us around if they win the toss like Doncaster didPelling1993 said:

Yes, there is a 50/50 chance we will be kicking towards the away end in the second half.NabySarr said:

Not sure being turned around is the worst thing in the world anyway. Wycombe need to avoid ya getting an early goal, if shooting towards the Covered End genuinely helps the players then turning us around could backfire2
-
If we come out at 100 MPH attacking the Covered end first half, it won't really help them, and the game could get done pretty quickly2
-
Agreed. Chuks is guilty of trying too hard sometimes. A ‘fired up Chuks’ usually results in shots from 25-30 yards out and needless fouls.EveshamAddick said:For some reason the words “Chuks” and “fired up” put the fear of god into me.3 -

I see him on an electric scooter in New Eltham yesterday. That's probably why hes always injured keeps falling off.0

You mean he is going to be in the basket of a push bike to get there quicker? 😉😆Pelling1993 said:

honestly the standard of English on this site. Even I knew with my CSE grade 3 English that the past tense should be "I seed him on a electric scooter"jakecafc said:I see him on an electric scooter in New Eltham yesterday. That's probably why hes always injured keeps falling off.

Definitely. Maybe.
Let's hope once he finishes he doesn't turn to cigarettes and alcohol.
If there's one thing that's almost certain about Chuks, it's that unlike many footballers out there he's got his priorities straight when it comes to how he looks after his money. He's heavily in invested into property and has already taken courses for scouting and coaching. He is also a leader off the pitch for many of our younger players, in particular our young strikers Kanu, TC, Mbick and Dixon
I believe that's called a Whooooosh0 -
Done his job. Again!
Regardless of his mobility he changed the game when he came on and gave their defence something to think about.34 -
You could tell he was so focused, did exactly what he needed to do, didn't give away a single foul.27
-
NJ did his best to wind him up(in a good way) before he sent him on to the pitch.Addickhead86 said:You could tell he was so focused, did exactly what he needed to do, didn't give away a single foul.5 -
His last game for us will be at Wembley. Good for him26
