I often leave the fans bar 10-15 minutes before kickoff, but they may well stop serving 30 minutes before. I think last entry is possibly 30 minutes before, too.0

Two reasons for 7.15 start:
The Players are from 59 for Rob Lee to Lennie Lawrence who is 77; they walk slowly around the pitch as their bodies are battered from their playing days.
CAFC ex PE teacher and ex manager looks the fittest!🤦🏻♂️
The fans in their seats at 7.15 will remind the Players of the size of the crowd at 'home games' at Palace 🤷🏻♂️
I was at the Full members match against Birmingham, 2nd round 1986/87 when they announced the crowd changes to the players 🙄9 -
Went to both the home leg at you-know-where (Selhurst, sigh) and the away leg at Elland Road. Made the journey with three Maltese lads — absolute characters — who’d got comps off Colin Walsh. We ended up sitting in a stand that looked right down on the terrace packed with Charlton fans. The atmosphere? Easily the most intimidating match I’ve ever been to.
You could see outside Elland Road — Leeds fans were on rooftops just to get a glimpse. Proper gladiatorial stuff. Police horses were charging into crowds directly outside our stand like something out of Braveheart. Walking down the road afterwards, we were like walking targets — three Maltese blokes in slick leather jackets, me tagging along, all casual’d up. Leeds fans spotted us, swarmed — it was turning nasty until the police stepped in. Big relief when we were safely heading back south, adrenaline still pumping.
That experience actually put me off going to the St Andrews replay. I remember staying home, glued to the radio, pacing the living room like a lunatic. Then catching the highlights on TV and feeling absolutely sky-high. That kind of buzz that makes you love this club.
I reckon the 1987 squad should be brought out at 7.30pm sharp on Thursday — if they do it at 7.15, it'll be a ghost town outside with everyone still battling chaos at the turnstiles.
On a brighter note, I was lucky enough in 1998 to have a mate filming titles for Match of the Day, and he invited me to the Valley where he was filming with none other than Sasa Ilic. I stood pitchside watching it all happen, proper surreal moment. Best part? Afterwards I gave Sasa a lift back as he lived in West London. Having a Wembley hero in the passenger seat? That’s a special Charlton memory.

I recall when Leeds scored the first goal, Bremner who was their manager then, ran out of his dugout and did a aeroplane right in front of the few Charlton fans there. I thought it was a bit classless at the time.1

I've still got mine too. Felt more scared at Elland Rd than I did at St Andrews. I think they brought in metal detectors for the home game, the rumour was that Leeds fans would smuggle razor blades inside hamburgers. This is all a bit of a nonsense.
This isn't a meaningless end of season game where there's space for this.
It feels like it's becoming a bit of a "celebration" - almost a party atmosphere.
We haven't done anything yet. Keep the legends for the first game back in The Championship if we win the next two games.
If WW need anything to gee them up, just tell them that we are already celebrating.2 -
It’s just a way of getting people into their seats, it’s not us celebrating already. It’s good to recognise legends, the club hadn’t done it enough recently until the ex players association got off the ground. If you don’t like it then just ignore it and let other people have their fun!6
