What’s his record like signing players since leaving us?0

I hope there’s truth to this. I think he knows the type of players Jones wants which I don’t think Scott ever did.0

If you want to look up some of his signings, you probably want to look at any player Brighton signed from Europe in 2017/18/19 or any player Luton signed from 2022 onwards. Not all of them will be his work but a number will be.sammy391 said:What’s his record like signing players since leaving us?1. Charlton 2007-15 (Chief Scout)
2. Fulham 2015-16 (Senior Scout - 15 months)
3. Brighton 2016-19 (European Scout)
4. Stoke 2019-20 (Head of Recruitment - 5 months, brought in under Nathan Jones)
5. Luton 2021- (under Nathan Jones and then various others since)
I think the key thing is that he’s worked with Nathan Jones at Charlton, Stoke and Luton in the past. NJ clearly rates his work and they must get on well.7 -
Yes it’s good and seems too much of a coincidence not to happen but is he knowledgable of our bargain basement shops of choice? 😉🙂
all joking aside it’s a good thing and something I would regard as getting the foundations right rather than roles for mates a la Andy Scott.2 -
Rooes for nathan's mates all good, roles for methven's mates, not so good0

Have Luton not just had consecutive relegations, with parachute payments ?0
-
Yes. And Jones failed at Soton and Stoke, but luckily for us, those who make appointments consider positives as well as negatives, and if Chapple could help Jones get Charlton up into the Premier league, I'm sure few would complain.wmcf123 said:Have Luton not just had consecutive relegations, with parachute payments ?

What interests me is who recommended and did the scouting for Lloyd Jones, Edwards, Ramsey, and Small to play for Charlton as they need some praise if it was the same person 👏🏼
Big Phil Chapple earned his stripes with Powell and Dyer with the team that was accumulated for the 100+ season so would be a decent reunion if PC still has a good network.1 -

Oh agreed. I still think it’s almost impossible to do that now (or statistically ever) .swordfish said:

East Terrace Junior tells me the Brighton highlights are Gross, MacAllister, Bissouma, Dan Burn.Callumcafc said:

Whether he had a hand in them who knows?1 -
Bissouma and Groß more than likely, the other two weren’t playing in Europe so would have been from someone elseEastTerrace said:

Not saying it’s easy but Ipswich have done it recently, plus off the top of my head Southampton, Leeds, Luton, Sheffield United have all been in League One and got to (or back to) the Prem. Sunderland may well add to that list too.wmcf123 said:

I really hope he’s back, the man is an encyclopaedia of footballers in this country.
i saw him a few times in the Directors box last season and he is always up for a chat but also VERY guarded about who he is looking at.A very professional man who would be a great fit for us. Fingers crossed11
