Great news Beds, really pleased for you. My next scan is due soon with results on April 7. Hoping for similar good news. I'm hoping the fact that I'm feeling good is a good sign.
In the meantime my heart goes out to you, Redmidland. We're all with you in our thoughts and prayers. Stay positive and hopefully our collective energy can pull us all through.6 -

just an update from the ph household.
mum has round 3 of chemo tomorrow it should of been round 4 but she caught novovirus and was blue lighted to hospital 2 weeks ago and was kept in overnight after meeting with the oncology doctor they have decided to just keep it to 5 weeks of chemo and get cracking with chemoradiation 2 weeks after this as planned, so far no side effects from chemo just a bit of tiredness. after radiation it will be 2 weeks of brachytherapy at the royal marsden.
her things she wants to do this year are still go to a family trip to Wales as she wants to visit portmeirion as its where the prisoner was filmed and do our usual jaunt to Lanzarote in November,

Firstly thanks to everyone on here who very kindly sent birthday cards for my 70th. My wife brought them into the hospital I've been in for the last 5 weeks. Last night I was transferred to a rehab hospital nearer my home, as they try to get my legs working for more than 75 metrs. I'll let you know how it goes.26

I'll be interested in how they get your legs working as with my MS progressing my max is 60m.

Just got back from the oncologist. He gave me the results of my recent scan. This was the first one that would show what had been happening since I stopped chemo in November.Anyway it showed everything was stable which was as good as we could expect. I'm pretty happy at this 😃31

Good morning all, I've not updated for 5 weeks, so here goes-:
I'm still in hospital, that's 9 weeks now, I've been suffering from a series of UTI's and infections in my testicles as well. I also suffered from 'fluid retention', basically the LRI took me off my diuretics and did not put me back on them. As I now suffer from lifelong AF, it meant my body couldn't remove all the excess fluid I have in my body, hence my ankles and testicles became swollen, testicles to the size of a cricket ball, it was very painful. I also put on 7kg of weight in 1 week, I insisted they put me back on diuretics, as I've been taking them everyday for 10 yrs!
The tablets were reinstated, and in a matter of 5 days, all the swelling was gone. I was over the moon that another battle had been taken on and won!!
I'm now fighting another UTI with as much vigour as Charlton supporters do, which means I'll win again!!
However, my Oncologist has told me, she won't restart my chemo until all infections have gone.
So far I've beaten 6 UTI's, a knee infection, and a testicle infection. As most of you know I now live with a 'stoma', on top of that I've had a catheter inserted for 7 weeks, which I may have to live with for the rest of my life.
As for the cancer, the tumour, currently seems stable, I'm due for a further CT scan this Thursday. If the tumour hasn't grown, then a discussion will take place as to what to do next, will take place. "Do I have further treatment or do we observe the tumour and blood tests, every 2 months?"
What a decision to make, but I'll be guided by my Oncologist.
I want/need to see CAFC in the Championship and hopefully the Prem.
Their wonderful work this season has really helped me through a painful and tough time. Let's hope we can make Wembley, I can't this time, but I'll watch on TV.

When cancer is the opposition it's difficult to win the war but battle away and I send my love and good wishes to all whether personally or a loved one is suffering.
Red Midland, life sure ain't fair and you have my deepest admiration for your fortitude as each time you get knocked down you get up again. I feel so humbled hearing about the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune for so many.
My own story was localized Prostrate cancer back in late 2019 and the cold hands of a young nurse sticks in my mind when having the 20 days of radiation. She was just doing her job and had to be 'hands on'; if I hadn't had six monthly injections to limited my Testosterone I may have had a different response !
The shower has just stopped here and blue sky is showing; may blue sky visit one and all.4 -

6 weeks chemo at darenth.
and just finished week 1 of chemo radiation at Maidstone.13
