I’m simply saying ‘blaming’ Chuks isn’t really the right conclusion in my opinion.Off_it said:
No idea of the point you're trying to make here, unless you're suggesting that players shouldn't try and put in tackles for fear of getting sent off?valleynick66 said:
Maybe so. But it meant with the referee he could have been sent off that’s my point.LargeAddick said:
Jones was putting down a marker and letting Kone know he was there. Kone wasn’t in the game after that.valleynick66 said:
You could easily say similar about Lloyd Jones getting booked early and being on a tightrope all game.carly burn said:He's a senior pro. We were 4-0 up. The spat before the incident, which the ref clearly saw was unnecessary. He should've just walked away.
Poor from ChuksThe referee got it wrong. That is it.
As opposed to getting involved in physical shenanigans off the ball.
Baffled. If Jones had been sent off say for a second offence in the match and the result less favourable we’d be blaming him for a silly early booking. My point is the guilt is with the referee for getting it wrong.5 -
Hugely different situations though - LJ going into a crunching tackle in first few minutes at 0-0 versus Chuks getting involved in a lengthy off the ball altercation at 4-0 with a few minutes left.valleynick66 said:

So the risk of being sent off early in a must win game is less of an issue?Weegie Addick said:

My point is to blame Chuks for the referee is not the fairest conclusion. The conclusion should only be we as a team are the victims of a poor refereeing decision. Our manager after all expressed surprise the decision was not overturned.2 -
Seems that we're not the only club feeling a bit miffed.

At some point people are just going to have to let this go. Thankfully we have another game tomorrow.3

Yeah but it’s all the refs fault , we’re like scousersOff_it said:At some point people are just going to have to let this go. Thankfully we have another game tomorrow.
I mean everyone completely ignores the nibbles we’ve done That could have been penalties to the oppo and as if other teams don’t get crap decisions against them , poor us .
How anyone can claim to clearly see what happened with Chuks when to me in all the video footage it was inconclusive so they go with the on field decision .

I think there is some misunderstanding. When you have a player who is much stronger than you, you either let him do what he wants or get overly physical with him. It usually isn't the strong player who instigates it but they have to respond to it. Then you get the poor refs who can't see it for what it is. I see quite a few 50/50s that go the way of the weaker player because they are weaker.3

I thought it was just me that thought that.
How can you overturn a decision when you can’t clearly see what happened?4 -
Well NJ told us (I think) they did have clear evidence that he did not elbow a player and that was the reason for the sending off.Covered End said:

Finishing the game with an 18 and 20 year old up front. Just the wrong time of season for it.7

Game was already lost by the time he’d have come on, but yesterday was exactly why we need Aneke. Wrexham pressed us so well so we had to go long but we had no one to hold the ball up3
-
Yeah Mbick couldn’t fill his role. I can see that he might be able to to in future but not yet. Also compare the mental difference for those CB’s in seeing an unproven 18yr old come on instead of Aneke. That said, there was one lovely bit of movement from Mbick to get in the box which is beyond Aneke now, if he’d gone half a second earlier he might have scored which would have been some momentNabySarr said:Game was already lost by the time he’d have come on, but yesterday was exactly why we need Aneke. That’s a brave prediction, this is Aneke we are talking aboutMuttleyCAFC said:He will be available agin for the second leg in the play off semi final.1 -
I know you’re being tongue in cheek but his availability has been greatly increased this season. Obviously still not up to the levels of everyone else in the squad but it’s impressive from the medical team, NJ and Chuks himselfNabySarr said:

Nobody is gonna be able to limbo under a bar set that low!5 -
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still not up to the required level but I don’t go into every match thinking he’ll get injured anymore and I think it’s worth acknowledging thatOff_it said:

Just saw an update from Chuks, he has got his level two in scouting (talent identification)
Despite what has being going on recently, glad to see he is looking to stay in the game!7 -
