Chuks (p.61 - Released)

I think you could perhaps make an argument that it is inconclusive for a shoulder to the players face - but it’s not for an elbow.carly burn said:Where is the footage NJ spoke about?
Every piece I've seen is inconclusive.
Chuks arms were down by his side.3 -
This is a disgrace and shameful from the authorities.10
-
It was always going to be a 50/50 call but why did Aneke get invovled in the first place at 4-0 up 🤷🏿♂️
stand aside and let Leahy go if need be and just trip him up for a Yellow to entertain the away fans. Chuks is strong enough to push him away 10 seconds before impact and not the dance it turned into.
It did look like Leahy ran into him; why didn't Chuks complain more to the ref if he did nothing wrong ?
If Kanu or Mbick do well as subs in the next two games I would keep with them in the 18 as they are more mobile as I struggle to trust the immobile big man.10 -
Looking forward to seeing how Wrexham deal with Leahy in the playoffs6
-
He should never have got involved at that stage of the game where the score line was.8
-
Chuks shouldn't have got involved, but you'd also expect the referee / panel to do their job properly26
-
Would be gutting for him if it ended up as his last action in a Charlton shirt2
-
Why are we not allowed to read the full details of the judgement? After all, we pay for it!4

Agreed, he didn't react to the red like an innocent player given a red card by a cheat.soapboxsam said:It was always going to be a 50/50 call but why did Aneke get invovled in the first place at 4-0 up 🤷🏿♂️

Rather than horrified shock, he didn't look surprised, which probably slightly condemned him at the appeal.2 -
He never got "involved" in anything other than trying to get the guy off his back, and stop him kicking him in the shins, this is a total cowardly attempt to stay with the ref whatever the evidence shows, and they should be ashamed, but of course they are faceless and beyond scrutiny it seems...JohnnyH2 said:He should never have got involved at that stage of the game where the score line was.14 -

If I was a Wycombe fan/manager/players I would be pretty miffed by Leahy for getting a player sent off when the game is dead and meaning he can't play against your biggest rivals for second place. What a total moron.
If we end up in play offs and play Wycombe I can see double motivation for Chuks if he gets game time against them.15 -
I still maintain Chuks was stupid to get involved. The grappling went on for a while before the alledged offence happened. Then instead of looking mortified at getting sent off he just shrugged his shoulders and ambled off. Not the look/actions of a wronged man. And we were 4-0 up with seconds to go at the time. Absolute madness.23
-
He nearly got sent off last game of last season, so their players know how to wind him up, brain dead getting involved0
-
If they take his reaction into account, and not the actual incident itself, then they deserve all the disdain they're getting and then some. How a player reacts shouldn't matter at all, only what they've done.killerandflash said:

Can someone please tell me what he got "involved" in, other than trying to get away from the guy, he was being held and kicked ffs, he's innocent and you could see that the way he walked off, just in shock at it all...9

Just another reason to get out of this shitty league....shocking officials, grounds and football5
-
Total utter and horseshit of a decision from referree and EFL. Leahy what an arse, weakening the opponents, who they need to get a result against to get promotion.

You'll be happy to know that the Referee for the Wycombe game has taken charge of more Championship than League One games this season then.ct_addick said:Just another reason to get out of this shitty league....shocking officials, grounds and football14 -
IF it was just the other guy grabbing him, which I really doubt, then instead of reacting just collapse to the floor and win the free kick.LargeAddick said:I still maintain Chuks was stupid to get involved. Leahy never tried anything with Godden, as Godden would just win the free kick and walk off.2 -
Chuks had the air of a player who knows that every ref looks at him in every challenge and gives a free kick/card against him. They look at his size and penalise him. Players like “Diving Leahy” (what his own fans call him) know it. We see it every time he plays and it’s beyond a joke.killerandflash said:

I get that he's one of ours, so we're generally biased, but some of the comments and reactions on here are truly laughable.
Chuks the angelic choirboy has apparently been dreadfully wronged by a cowardly cheat, an inept ref and an unaccountable and unjust appeal process. It's all perfectly clear, despite the inconclusive (either way) camera footage from 2 different angles.
OK, if you say so!
13 -
I blame NJ. Being 4-0 up you dont need to bring Chuks on. You bring on a youngster who, if he makes a mistake, is not costly.
I mean....we are always told its not the time to play this player or that player due to pressure...." what if he makes a mistake" / " the pressure will be too much for him".

Sounds like you think he’s been wronged by an unjust appeal process 🤷🏻♂️Off_it said:I get that he's one of ours, so we're generally biased, but some of the comments and reactions on here are truly laughable.

I expect him to play the first 15 minutes then (at least)killerandflash said:Chuks will be fit and raring to go in the playoffs second leg...0 -
Going down feigning injury at the time made him look guilty too.killerandflash said:

I get that, but you could also say Chuks is a 31 year old experienced player with over 300 senior appearances and came on for 10-15 minutes in a game in which we were 4-0 up. He should know better.golfaddick said:I blame NJ. Being 4-0 up you dont need to bring Chuks on. You bring on a youngster who, if he makes a mistake, is not costly.

I think Chucks is to blame but NJ also - Chucks is a vital part of our ‘finishing’ strategy and, knowing how fragile he is and how vital he can be,NJ didn’t need to put him on at 4 upI’m Scoham said:

Chuks was a silly boy on Monday and should have just walked away, just because he’s a big lump he seems to get in situations when he doesn’t need to
When he walked past us at Wycombe I said that’s the last we will see of him, and on the basis that hes got no chance of a new deal I kinda hope it is as that will mean no play off lottery
But if he redeems himself with that worldie he has in his locker at Wembley then I’ll let him off3
