FT Wigan 0-0 Bloody Wrexham...🙄2

Jones knows we can't rely on getting anything at Wrexham or Wycombe. We have to try and win this game.Clem_Snide said:Stupidly unbalanced bench. How is MBick a better option than Dixon if you already have Ahadme and Aneke there. Also ridiculous to leave Mitchell out and have no CB on there....3 strikers FFS.2 -
FT Fluky Wobbly Wycombe 1-0 Stevenage (injury time winner)...🤦♂️1

No issue with Mbick being on the bench. Although he hasn't played many minutes since spending a long time out with injury. He must be doing a lot in training. My first though was Chuks must be injured. All 3 of Micah, Chuks and Gass must mean Jones wants physicality away against a battling Cambridge. Understand why Dixon isn't on the bench in that case.
But if that is the case why not Mitchell at the heart of the back 3 over Macintyre? And no CB on the bench after last week's defensive fiasco? If we wanna go to a back 4 like we did last week a CB pairing of Macintyre and Gillesphey doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
Odd. But hope he's got a plan.2 -
Didnt realise that I was in goal for Cambridge today, better get a move on... or not 😏
Names in Red started our 2-1 win at the Valley on Boxing Day
Those in Blue came off the bench
Campbell / Leaburn / Kachunga the scorers that day

I get what he's doing. Taking a gamble on having no centre back on the bench in the hopes that no-one gets injured, but if one does it'll be Edwards to CB and Watson on or TC to RWB. I actually thought Ahadme might start this one to rest Godden as it's likely to be a very physical game. Jones is clearly gambling on the starting 11 doing the job and if not, having physical strikers to lump the ball forward to when Cambridge defend very deep. Ahadme and Chuks will come on if needed and Mbick is, what, 6ft3 and there to be another physical option in the dying minutes. Dixon won't get any space in behind and so Jones is banking on it being a fight because I guess he's going all out for 2nd still and there's relatively little to lose. I get it, whether he's right we will see though. I mostly am amused by the idea that if Ramsay goes down injured we could have 3 left-footed CBs on the pitch which would be an experience3

Still think the change of stands is mental from Cambridge but it is nice to be within half a mile of the pitch0
-
As others have said, an odd bench. No CB is a big risk, if say Gillesphey goes off we'll have McIntyre and Ramsay/Watson there, and be really vulnerable in the air

No he doesn’t have a plan. Famously just randomly selects a squad each week. Picks them out of a hat.cantersaddick said:No issue with Mbick being on the bench. Josh Stokes will be the main threat for Cambridge, looked very impressive for them at The Valley. Another one plucked from Non League by way of AFC Sudbury and Aldershot by Bristol City.1

Exactly why we have more options to come off the bench if the game gets to 60-70 minutes and want to have a go at the three points.golfaddick said:
