Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT) annual Upbeats Walk returns on Saturday, April 5th, ahead of the men’s first-team’s home clash against Lincoln City. 2025 marks a special milestone as the Walk celebrates its 10th edition, making this year’s fundraiser for the Upbeats even more significant!
The Charlton Upbeats is a programme specifically for people with Down’s syndrome and has become a firm favourite among Addicks fans. More than 170 participants are registered with the Upbeats, with 40 regular attendees each week. Over the past 12 months, the Upbeats have enjoyed a memorable trip to Center Parcs and were crowned as champions at the Down’s syndrome Football Festival in October. These are just a few highlights of what the record-breaking £55,000 raised from last year’s Upbeats Walk helped make possible.

Finally can make this date after missing several years. We are in. Though just had two attempts at registering and failed twice. Not sure if that’s my error.1

I take it this game won’t be moved to a 12:30 ko.0

No way of knowing until a month before. Reading v Wycombe and Shrewsbury v Cambridge are more likely to be on TV based on the current table thoughguinnessaddick said:I take it this game won’t be moved to a 12:30 ko.0 -
Spoke with one of the organisers this week and they were concerned about that. Fingers crossedguinnessaddick said:I take it this game won’t be moved to a 12:30 ko.0 -
If I run my usual five minute miles, I could leave New Eltham at 11 and still have time for a couple of beers before a 12.30 kick off.AFKABartram said:

Only if your usual 5 minute miles cover the route from New Eltham to The Valley. You could be miles away otherwise 😉thai malaysia addick said:

With so much going on Charlton wise, this has come around quickly!
Not sure it’s the wisest thing to do whilst recovering from torn ankle ligaments, but I’ve not missed one yet and I really enjoy doing the walk with my son.
He always gets blown away by your fundraising generosity so if anyone wanting to support the Upbeats again this year, then the link is below for Dylan’s Dynamos. He’ll be over the moon with any support via his page
Look forward to seeing some of you again on Saturday.3 -
Looking forward to the walk and meeting any Lifers. I’ll be the bloke with the half and half Wrexham scarf (ahem).2

A great day, okay shame about the first 60 minutes of the actual game but the walk was good and the weather made it a bit better too.
Didn’t personally catch up with anyone on here, only my former work friends when I was at CACT before I left a couple years ago.
I am sure some of you would’ve seen us, but we were the couple with our baby boy in the sage green buggy.
Well done on everyone on completing. Hope you all had a great day.4
