I can't believe that the US has let this crap go ahead. There are plenty of economically illiterate in the world but you don't expect one of them to be US Prrsident.
Almost feels like a hoax.4 -
According to Czech TV's best known TV anchor, (who will have got this from a reputable source) the following tariffs apply:
Israel 17%
Iran 10%
Re my previous post where I suggested children set these tariffs, I would now like to apologise to children everywhere 🥵4 -
Can’t help but think he’s just shorting the markets to make a load of cash!12

Take the US’s goods trade deficit with any particular country, and divide it by the total amount of goods imported from that country. Cut that percentage in half, and there’s the US’s “reciprocal” tariff rate.

My Finance people have gone undercover and the website is no longer functioning. I guess they don’t want me to see if there are any remaining pennies left in my investments following trumpy’s announcement of increased tariffs. I assume there’s FA I can do about it now other than to stick it out (ooh arh matron) unless you know otherwise. I was thinking of using my ISA allowance in my ISA S&S as its buying whilst S&S are low but should I just open a Cash ISA until things return to normal. Will normality ever return?

All depends on your attitude to risk, neither is necessarily wrong1

Would someone be helpful and clarify whether the LLoyds ordinary shares are valued at 70p or £70.360

I suspect that within 48 hours Trump will reverse his tariff decision but not before all his Billionaire mates have made obscene profits buying stock at rock bottom prices.2

I really hope someone is looking into it as it could be the biggest financial scandal in modern times, and as someone who doesn't have Trump derangement syndrome, I find it completely plausible.4 -

I've opened, this week, a S&S ISA account for me, and another for my Mrs. Will be putting a chunk of change into each before the April 5th tax year deadline. Is it enough just to have the money sitting in the ISA wrappers by 5th, or does the money need to be invested by then too?
Now to decide whether to risk catching a falling knife or wait it out a little longer.

As at 4pm
Dow Jones down 3.75%
S&P500 down 4.32%
Nasdaq down 5.57%
FTSE100 down 1.76%
Germany down 2.92%
France down 3.35%
EuroStox down 3.62%
Just another day in paradise.
Edit.
I wonder when Americans will wake up & smell the coffee. (Probably never as they wont be able to afford to buy it 😆)

It makes me laugh that penguins and seals have done a better job negotiating tarrifs with the USA than the European Union has.2

Wtf is going on in the USA?

Dear fellow mug-punters. I've said it before to those talking the Buy the Dip mantra. Even taking into account today's slide, here is the S&P 500. It's still nearly 5% up over 12 months. Personally I think there's further to fall. The brilliant minds on Wall Street still haven't fully absorbed that their genius turnip has slapped tariffs on a bunch of penguins.
