EFL 24/25 scores and results

I did read from a Reading fan that they have to be given a months notice... Which if it comes on 5th April, will conveniently take them to the end of the season, meaning they wont have to null & void any results, given the season would have been completed.JustFloydRoad said:

If that is the case what happens if they finish 6th and then get thrown out ? Their place cant simply be given to the team finishing in 7th so whoever plays then in the semis should be given a bye into the final.ForeverAddickted said:

But this is the EFL we are talking about. No decisions will be taken until after the play off final. Just more delay.0 -
There is absolutely no way the EFL will be throwing Reading out of the league, play offs or not. It just won’t happen.1
-
And it shouldn't happen either.LargeAddick said:There is absolutely no way the EFL will be throwing Reading out of the league, play offs or not. It just won’t happen.1 -
You say this but the EFL were quite happy to relegate Macclesfield and watch them go bust.0

If we finish a point behind Wrexham, they should null and void the results so we leapfrog them (they lose 3pts, we lose 1pt). Obviously.ForeverAddickted said:

Probably be a repeat of what happened in the National League Play-Offs last season, when Gateshead's ground wasn't eligible for the EFL, so they weren't allowed to compete. On that occasion Altrincham (the highest Quarter-Final side) got a bye to the Semi-Finals, so imagine in this case; 3rd would get a bye to the Final.golfaddick said:

But yeah I wont be surprised to see the EFL deliberately dither.0 -
Macclesfield were a minnow in comparison with Reading, a former PL team in a prosperous part of the country.West2003 said:You say this but the EFL were quite happy to relegate Macclesfield and watch them go bust.

They finished bottom of League Two, and only got relegated because of PPG used due to Covid. Stevenage would have been relegated as well, but they avoided it, because of what happened to Bury.West2003 said:You say this but the EFL were quite happy to relegate Macclesfield and watch them go bust.
When Macclesfield went bust it wasn't their problem, because they weren't an EFL member.0 -
Wrexham and Wycombe both draw7

Nobody wants to get promoted from L2. Walsall have no wins in 8, but are still top as Bradford are also dropping points. Port Vale now 3rd

To the worst two teams in the league as well.3 -
Anything can happen between now and the end of the season... I dont see anyone winning all six games between now and the end of the season, and fully expect it to be a final day showdown from 2nd down to 4thSantaClaus said:sam3110 said:Wrexham and Wycombe both draw

A good night for us, Stockport and Bolton and we are now 10 points clear of 7th.
I still don't see 2nd as realistic but I guess if we beat Wrexham and they lose to Blackpool then you only need them to lose one more and we could still slip up in our 6 and catch them. Seems unlikely... but not completely impossible.
Just need to stay injury free.2 -
Wycombe 0-0 Shrewsbury
Wycombe had 32 shots…0 -
Explains why they didnt win then... They were so pissed they couldnt shoot straightcovered_end_junior said:Wycombe 0-0 Shrewsbury

Burton could go into the final game of the season with a chance of surviving. A great win for them today over Orient.

We will....ForeverAddickted said:

Hopefully they continue their good form at the weekend against the Welsh wangers.killerandflash said:Burton could go into the final game of the season with a chance of surviving. A great win for them today over Orient.1 -
Wycombe definitely there to be picked off, Wrexham have an easier run in, although we can claw back three points at their place0

It's also teed them up nicely for Wrexham on Saturday.killerandflash said:Burton could go into the final game of the season with a chance of surviving. A great win for them today over Orient.0 -
Just looked at the Reading page on the BBC site. It says that they have until the 5th April ( earlier article said the 4th) to get sold. If not there are a range of sanctions the EFL could apply, the main one being "suspended" from playing. This seems to mean that they wont be able to take the field on Sat......but it then doesn't say what happens after that. It applies that they will remain "suspended" until they are under new ownership, but what that means about fulfilling their fixtures and the integrity of the League is anyone's guess.LargeAddick said:There is absolutely no way the EFL will be throwing Reading out of the league, play offs or not. Shows how far ahead Walsall were at one point. They're in relegation form, have won just 2 of their last 15 games (14 points in that time) and are still somehow top. A total meltdown since their top scorer Nathan Lowe was recalled by Stoke.killerandflash said:Nobody wants to get promoted from L2. Big game on Saturday though, they're at home to 3rd placed Port Vale so will finally be knocked off top if they lose.0 -
Which shows what a great job Challinor has done at Stockport, as after they lost Barry I expected them to slide. 15 goals in 23 games was a stunning return, yet they've still continued their form without his goals.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Which we really don't want.killerandflash said:Burton could go into the final game of the season with a chance of surviving. A great win for them today over Orient.
I want them safe before they play us as we may well be gunning for 2nd...2 -
Yeah i expected the same, but since Barry left they've adapted well and spread their goals around, and are not reliant on any 1 player.killerandflash said:

They're also pretty solid defensively, they've conceded 36 goals the same as us, but 9 of those came in 2 heavy home defeats to Orient and Wycombe, which means they've only let in 27 in their other 38 games.2 -
If we're in the play offs, Stockport are the one side I'd prefer to avoid over two-legs. I'm quietly confident of us dispatching any of the others who could make up the remaining 3 spots over two games.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Gills get a point and the fans celebrate not dropping out of the league.
What a very low bar for a club the chairman was taking to the Championship.1 -

Isn't their owner basically another TS? Promised the world and hasn't delivered , just goes through loads of managers with different styles.

Took the words out of my mouth! Very similar to Carlisle. Birmingham buck the trend but it seems like the brash spotlight seeking Americans who buy clubs tend to fail completelyMarcusH26 said:MintoHumbugs said:Gills get a point and the fans celebrate not dropping out of the league.
