Elliott Consortium awarded new ownership rights at Charlton Athletic - possibly misguided April Fool

A court ruling has awarded Former Charlton Athletic owner Paul Elliott and his consortium future ownership rights over the football club. The consortium, that also includes Mohammed El Khashasy and Chris Farnell took over the football club in June 2020 and in doing so ended a tumultuous five-month period at The Valley, with a boardroom spat between previous owners East Street investments Tahnoon Nimer and Matthew Southall causing off-field issues.
The group released funds to enable the club run day to day and provided some much needed stability during that time. However, Elliotts tenure was short lived with the arrival of US Danish entrepreneur Thomas Sandgaard who soon took custody of the football club.
Elliott and his consortium have been seeking redress for the change of ownership and after many months of deliberation a court ruling has awarded the group what is thought to be a small holding within the football club.
