It was an early kickoff in the sunshine this afternoon with the Addicks welcoming fellow playoff contenders Huddersfield Town to the Valley. It was a day of special guests, with commentator Martin Tyler on CharltonTV reporting on his new show highlighting the historic 7-6 Charlton victory of lore and Martin Pringle joining at halftime as part of the Nordic former players’ return. And it didn’t take long before Charlton set the tone. Within thirty seconds, Thierry Small had pressured the Huddersfield defender into a mistake and provided a lovely cross that Matt Godden headed home to open the scoring. Then on seventeen minutes Luke Berry provided for Tyreece Campbell, who’s low drive through traffic nestled neatly into the far left corner to make it two nil.

It wasn’t’ until the second half that the Addicks scored next when Berry again linked up with Campbell who blasted in his second of the afternoon from about eighteen yards. The final goal came from Captain Greg Docherty’s shot, which cannoned off the crossbar and rebounded off the keeper and into the net. Give the man the goal and TC the well-deserved assist!

The Addicks dominated in midfield and their constant pressure won many tackles and interceptions making Huddersfield totally ineffective. It was a bright, sunny day with plenty to smile about.

Mansfield Town up next, where the Addicks will look to further pressure Wycombe and Wrexham above them.

Charlton 4 Huddersfield 0

Over to you.

Apparently an old soldier and a bloke who lives in the Czech Republic 🇨🇿 reckon Charlton don't take their chances. Would you two gentlemen like me to give you the stats again 🤣🤣

Great performance that after last week was a bit worried it might knock their confidence, but we looked at it constantly Huddersfield never looked a threat at all due to our harrying and threat going forward.Nice to see TC getting in amongst the goals now hopefully this pushes him onwards and we have that special something come the end of season.
  • Whats that sailing through the mist in the Thames.

The Guns are firing once more... but wait... there are cries of CEASEFIRE... Its sounds like there has been a bit of a bloodbath, a massacre of epic proportions, because Huddersfield have been SUNK!!

I absolutely love these posts. May they keep coming, right to the end of the season.

What an absolutely fucking great experience!

Dog sitting for the daughter, who has Sky. I have seldom ever been more entertained and more importantly comfortable, watching Charlton on TV.

Well done NJ, well done the lads.

Oh I wish I had been there. Just what the doctor ordered after last week and a quite possible playoff rival put to the sword. Such a shame our start to the season is a likely cause of us missing out on automatic promotion but if we have to do it through the playoffs then I’m sure we’ll give it a good crack.

Looks like it's officially gone down as an OG - one for the dubious goals panel as I'm certain it landed behind the line before bouncing off the keeper.

Beautiful almost perfect but bloody fantastic nonetheless.

  • So good to see TC finally showing confidence and composure in front of goal. It's finally clicking for the lad, and that could be so important for us if Leaburn is out for the season.

What a performance. What a result.

2 players often criticised for their end product delivered today. A fantastic cross from Small early on and TC's motm performance well rewarded with 2 goals.

Docherty a machine in the middle and a real leader.
