Away fans housed in West Stand Upper - Testing in 25/26 season

Have no problem with this. Used to stand and sit in the JS occasionally. Charge higher prices for away fans like at other grounds.1

yep, exactly why the JS makes so much noiseDOUCHER said:
and as has been said on many occasions, you need to be close to the roof to get an atmosphere goingshine166 said:
They are poor seats compared to uptop or fans would have naturally moved down.cabbie8 said:I’d like to see the north upper fans/noise closer to the pitch and situated in the north lower. I had a conversation with Bowyer previously and he wanted this to happen for same reasons1 -
Depends what division we’re in, but a lot of clubs are sticking away fans in corners of the stands that aren’t behind the goals now. I hadn’t realised Southampton had changed it until seeing them on MOTD this season, Leeds, M’boro are few others that spring to mind.If we’re in the championship, I think most teams will bring a support warranting the JS stand. I can’t think of any Championship teams that could use the West Upper where they don’t take up a sizeable allocation, plus the barrier covering you then need to split the home fans
If we’re still in League One; then we’ve all seen some of the paltry away followings. Is it worth having a whole stand open for that? It would look a bit odd if closed completely, and do we warrant the crowds for a few home fans to sit in the JS
it worked for me when we first went back to the valley because the covered end and the west stand were small (compared to today), and the East was yet to be finished
I think we still had access to the JS when the East was built, but again, we had a smaller stadium
We just need to get out of this league. In the Championship the crowds would look good again (to an extent) regardless of where the away fans are4 -
Has anyone asked the Police?

Great idea. The acoustics in the South stand make the away fans sound immense so plonking them in the upper West has got to be a positive for us.2

Yes, without doubt.cabbie8 said:2 -

Is the intention to stick away fans from smaller clubs in the west stand, so that the JS can be closed? Or so that we can put home fans in the JS?
If it's to totally close the JS then i think it's a bit shit. I'd rather see 200 Crawley fans in the away end than have a totally empty stand.30 -

For a few games next season against clubs with smaller away support, we may close the Jimmy Seed Stand and temporarily place away fans in the south end of the West Stand Upper.

If CAST get involved it would 100% be a survey.valleynick66 said:I can only assume it’s the brain child of one of the seemingly many outgoing employees and it’s their parting gift.Nonsense idea which will do more harm than good.Penny pinching in the extreme. Will assume the fans forum / supporter liaison role will quash it. It means you move a few home supporters to accommodate a few away supporters to save a few quid. It’s nonsense. A true lose lose scenario.5 -
On TV and a goal goes in against the empty stand, everyone will think, our support is shit, only having 3 sides open.
Goal goes in and 200 away fans cheer, everyone just thinks what poor away support31 -
Not bothered for a few games really tbh and if it gives us flexibility to use the JS as well or give an extra area for away fans if they can sell extra then it makes sense - bothers me more seeing half full east and west standsvalleynick66 said:

I always think you should look at this in the "what if it was me" view. If I was going to be stuffed up in a corner at an away game I wouldn't bother going.
I think the game atmosphere overall is going to suffer if you leave the Jimmy Seed empty. Having people opposite to shout at is much more fun 😆
Edit: shout not shoot 😜 although .....2 -
Sewing the seed early so it can be done for Burton on the last day if there's a chance of automatic promotion?0

Luckily none of the home fans who currently sit there, think the same1 -
Makes sense if you put home fans in there, not to leave it empty though.3

I'd not be pleased being moved on 'x' occasions.
It would also be a nightmare for the ticket office sorting this successfully.
When they did this for the Bournemouth game there was loads of problems.
I ended up getting hospitality for the Rotherham home game the following season as an apology.2
