Bit of a gap, but Lyle scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win, highlights show him doing some clever stuff as well on the wing letting a ball run/flicking it on into space. Been a lean spell, not scored for awhile? Anyway now 10 league goals plus 2/3 in various cups means he's close to my max prediction of 15 for season if he plays 30+ games. H e still has it, but definitely slowed down a tad.
Tough game away at Bradford next Saturday.
Surely it’s about now he packs it in for the season? 🐍

Because of the ludicrous turnover of players in recent seasons, the EFL highlights show drags up lots of exes, especially in L2

Taylor and Gilbey both have 10 league goals, Stockley 8 and Payne 7...
Payne is unrecognisable...... he's grown his hair. Scored an absolute banger as well

A decent L2 player. Not a bad L1 player to be fair, but you do need to find a way to compensate for his stature issues...

Surely must be a different Payne?

I’m sure KingKinsella will be along to tell us that he didn’t mean it like that and how he’s the greatest man to ever live

And Chris Solly has said similar about Millwall in the past too.

Dont really see the problem with what he's said this time... He came through Millwall's Academy?

5 games left of the season, so I presume he's doing podcasts now because he's hung up his boots for the rest of their games?

He says "Just to see how somebody different can upset how things are done at the top table. Just like when Luton did it, it was so different and so refreshing.

Luton very refreshing, up for a season then relegated and now maybe relegated again.

Millwall would never be involved in that boring 0-0 in the Premier League, it would be all blood, guts and thunder.”

What a load of nonsense, it’s not the 1970’s anymore.

Only because their defence wouldn't be good enough.

    Excellent outcome, for both teams

Never supported his personal attitudes/opinions,  his football skills still have merit (particularly vs Ladapo or Hylton )and I understand his football career decisions, which financially were sensible.Football is a business.

Great timing, just as they’ve been charged with homophobic chanting at Ben Chilwell……….that’ll be great for the premier league that.

Not sure the Met will be happy to be brought into that convo when they’re facing their biggest cuts to staff. I’ve organised many a Millwall v West Ham and it’s a ridiculous waste of taxpayers money on trying to keep grown ups who should know better from trying to pretend they want to kill each other 🙄

I mean what was so refreshing about Luton in the prem? Got battered every week and now could be in league 1

I’m guessing his contract is running out and he wants to be relevant

Noticed that LT has not been playing, as Colchester clock up a series of defeats. Apparently he's  got a 15cm tear on his Achilles and is out for 12 weeks. Season over.

"It's not career threatening which we were nervous about at first because he's been struggling with tendonitis in an Achilles and we assumed he'd snapped it because he's had pain in that area,

But it's actually quite a severe calf strain, it's a 3C which is about as bad as you can do it, it's about a 15cm tear. It means his season's over unfortunately but it's probably a 12-week injury.

On Saturday night, all of us thought it might be the end for Lyle because if you snap your Achilles at 35 it's not easy to come back from, but this one he'll definitely be able to.

And while he won't be able to help us on the pitch, I know he will continue to help the group off the pitch." Colchester boss Danny Cowley told BBC Essex Sport.

Do clubs not have to pay for the extra policing? Or is that only within certain distance of the ground?

Only pay for those used inside (was certainly the case when I was in, been out a fair few years but I’d be surprised if it’s changed).

Millwall in the PL would be a disaster for the police. 14 London derbies, most away teams wanting the lower tier, other high risk games like Leeds, Wolves, Everton, Man U etc.

Police would probably insist that the PL put them in the 12.30 Saturday kick off every week where possible.

If Millwall went up and somehow (massively unlikely I know) stayed up and plugged into that mid table Premier League gravy train where you don’t ever look like getting relegated - then we’d have to start questioning whether there’s some sort of curse on our club. It can’t be anything else.
