What are the words to this. Couldn’t get it out of my head yesterday.

“Tyreece Campbell running down the wing, scoring goals….” feels slightly inaccurate!

“running down the wing, getting much better at cutting inside under Jones but really needs to increase the number of goals he gets.”

    Nailed it.

Let's be honest if we only sang original songs we would stand in silence for the whole game. As would most other clubs. I doubt Palarse invented in.
But I wouldn't expect the Charlton Life moaners to like it.
Thanks to @cafcbrown for putting up the X link. However I still can't pick up all the words. If somebody could get them typed we would appreciate.

When the Samba rhythm starts to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Tyreece Campbell running down the wing
Scoring goals, making the Charlton sing

Agree with the first part, but if we have to copy then:

    a) It’d be good to do something sung by 2/3 other clubs rather than 20

    b) It should never be from those absolute virgins at Palace. Pretty sure they did invent it for that Franca bloke who doesn’t even play, but it at least ‘samba rhythm’ actually makes sense because he’s Brazilian

The lads around the drum put in a good shift but I wish they could muster just a single ounce of creativity

Not sure where ‘Samba’ has come from.

Definitely samba from the pre-match crowd in Kapture. I think Tyreece likes it (even if it is a long way from his personal music taste) so that’s good enough for me.

Those who kept insisting we need more original chants - let’s have them then?

    Well I absolutely loved it.
Superb being in the ground and singing it 15 mins after the final whistle.

Take an old football related song like "Life of Riley" by the Lightening seeds that everyone knows the tune to and change the words...

Trouble is the words bit is where I don't have a clue...!  The actual lyrics are...

"So here's your life (here's your life)
    We'll find our way
    We're sailing blind
    But it's certain nothing's certain

    I don't mind
    I get the feeling
    You'll be fine
    I still believe that
    In this world
We've got to find the time
    For the life of Riley"

Going to play devils advocate here and suggest most fans under 30 won’t ever have heard Life of Riley or will only have heard the intro and they’re who tend to get the songs going in my experience

I can't imagine most Yoof on the terraces listen to Michael Buble much either, but that hasn't stopped them signing Sway  :D

Ah but it isn’t Buble! It’s one of those classic songs that people just know because you hear it in films etc. and then everyone thinks it’s a particular singers tune

Fair shout but if your normal spot isn’t by the drum in the Covered End and away matches, and you don’t have a small group ready to join in with your little creation, then it won’t get anywhere. You get a fair few ideas thrown onto here but as far as I know none of the singing crowd are on CL so none have ever actually been sung.

It would be great if some of that lot were on here and a few ideas could be floated and tried out.

Oh and another plus about this song is that everyone can remember the words and join in.

La la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la.

I’m not sure but whenever I’ve heard it on there it’s only been the intro and then an instrumental version with comms on top

Think someone said earlier it was changed to Samba rhythm by Palace for their Brazilian player.

    Which makes it even worse.

The rubbish we come out with these days... Meanwhile, VFR is sung like a speed garage anthem.
