Never mind, there will be another franchise tournament along soon. I dont suppose the England players will be too bothered.

    Overton gone now. Absolutely pathetic

129-7 and we still have almost half of our overs

Unfortunately, he's not unique in failing to adapt to 50 over cricket - in this tournament, four of our top seven, namely Livingstone, Salt, Smith and Brook have scored 134 runs from 12 innings at an average 11.17.

I just checked balls faced for those four - exactly 150 so that's just about an average of two overs each per innings. Need to go harder though.

Forget the cricket in Pakistan and India and go further east to the Orient.

Digressing a wee bit .. interesting how the Pakistani Cricket Board (almost a govt. department) imported Australian clay and soil to build faster, truer pitches at their major grounds. Seems to have worked, except for England's results of course

Perfect example of how a 'mate' keeps being selected despite actual form and performances

Archer out for 25 (31). To be fair, he applied himself, as he has done with the bat throughout the tournament.

    171-8 (34.5)

Buttler now caught for 21 (43). His timing has looked totally out. All down to Rashi and Saqib to bat out the final 14 overs or so

    173-9 (35.3)

    Who said Bazball is crap?
    Oh, it was me.
Should call it what it is - brain dead cricket.
It may work on flat tracks …..

I wonder what is the lowest amount of overs we've been bowled out for on a 50 over game ?

Today is probably not the record but must he one of the lowest if we dont get past 40.

Rashid the final one to depart. 179 all out (38.2) which is the lowest total of any team in this tournament.

It's debatable whether we deserved to be there as one of the 8 best one day sides at the moment.

Australia and South Africa are both having to fly to Dubai tonight in case they have to play India in the first semi on Tuesday. The one that isn't playing India will then have to fly to Lahore in time for the second semi on Wednesday to play New Zealand.

England might have been a joke in this tournament but the joke is the way that it has pandered to India's insistence on where they play.

Rip it up and start again. The limited overs side has been awful for years. It needs rebuilding with new players and stop playing the test players. It doesnt work.Go and find some good youngsters.Im sure with all the 50 over/t20 we play in this country there has to be some good youngsters coming through.Even if it takes 5 years we need fresh eyes fresh faces and a new start. If not it will continue being a shambles.

There is hope. Not only were de Zorzi and Bavuma ruled out of the game through illness and they are forced to open with a non-opener as a result but now Markram has injured himself and unlikely to be able to bat.

So Archer opens with a 10 ball over and gives five away in extras. Great start.

And then first ball of his second over, he gets Stubbs to play on. Incredible what might happen if and when you bowl at the stumps.

    11-1

South Africa win by 7 wickets with 125 balls to spare. An absolute thrashing.

NZ have won the toss and will bowl. Mitchell comes in for Conway and Varun in for Harshit so India are playing four spinners. It must help when you play all your games in the same place to know exactly what team to field.

NZ in this tournament - 18 catches taken and one dropped. Some stunners taken too including today's by Phillips to dismiss Kohli
