And to be fair, there's still been too many poor balls. He's a lovely lad who has always suffered from a lack of confidence and numerous injuries. Despite some extraordinary bowling performances (including 3-1 and 19 dot balls in one of his spells in the Hundred) I do get the impression that he suffers a bit from "imposter syndrome".McBobbin said:

Nathan Ellis is exactly the type of bowler we've been missing. Someone who has that ability to bowl variations and take pace off on this surface.0

They are 109-1 (12.5) and 20 overs are needed for a result but, in the event of an abandonment, they would have 4 points so could only be overtaken by SA and the latter would have to lose to England by a massive margin for Afghanistan to qualify (we are talking 200 runs plus). Australia's current target, under DLS, at 20 overs would be 123 and at 30 overs it would be 191.
This tournament has been too influenced by the weather but, at least, there are reserve days for the semis and the final.0 -

Match abandoned meaning that Australia could become ICC Champion Trophy winners by winning just three matches. That really is ridiculous and undermines the status of the competition. Either have reserve days or change the format - all teams playing each other and then the top four playing a knock out type arrangement as in the Big Bash would mean 32 games instead of the current 15. Salt just hasn't seemed to develop as a player. Feels like he's still doing the same thing he did as a young player at Sussex where he only knows to go hard regardless of the situation.
Needs to go back to Lancs and spend time developing his technique.1 -
Smith has scored 15, 9 & 0 batting in a position totally foreign to him. I would have backed Rehan to score 24 in three innings. We'll never know.0
