It's not often you see three slips and a gully in white ball cricket. Or 15 extras out of the first 26 scored off 6 overs.0

Nathan Ellis is exactly the type of bowler we've been missing. Someone who has that ability to bowl variations and take pace off on this surface.0
-
273 all out off the full 50 overs0

Buttler has resigned as captain.4

I can see him going the way of someone like Shaun Tait and stick to T20s even if he does make the Ashes this year. His body isn't going to take many more years at Test level and he's not got that great a record in ODIs with 80 wickets in 70 matches at 40.82.2 -
Rain stopped play. Australia are, unfortunately, virtually certain to qualify even if the match even if the match does get underway again. They are 109-1 (12.5) and 20 overs are needed for a result but, in the event of an abandonment, they would have 4 points so could only be overtaken by SA and the latter would have to lose to England by a massive margin for Afghanistan to qualify (we are talking 200 runs plus). Australia's current target, under DLS, at 20 overs would be 123 and at 30 overs it would be 191.
This tournament has been too influenced by the weather but, at least, there are reserve days for the semis and the final.0 -

It's not as if he's that good a white ball bowler anyway.1 -

Lucky old Aussies. Had to rely on a washout so as not to lose to the mighty Afgans.1

For what it's worth, England win the toss and elect to bat. Saqib comes in for the injured Wood so, despite it being a dead rubber, no place for Rehan - he must be the best drinks carrier in the world.0

Nasser said before the match that he was sick and tired of hearing from the England camp and McCullum in particular that we go hard and harder. Salt hits two boundaries and is out caught in the first over. Brain dead cricket.3

Rinse and repeat. Smith out for a duck in exactly the same way. We're going at 10 an over though.
20-2 (2.2)1 -

Salt just hasn't seemed to develop as a player. Feels like he's still doing the same thing he did as a young player at Sussex where he only knows to go hard regardless of the situation.
Needs to go back to Lancs and spend time developing his technique.1 -
Smith has scored 15, 9 & 0 batting in a position totally foreign to him. I would have backed Rehan to score 24 in three innings. We'll never know.0

Duckett caught and bowled from a leading edge
37-3 (6.4)0 -
England déjà vu
Salt and Vinegar 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Ducky played well until he arrived too soon and easy C+B. Should've been run out going for a 3rd run but bowler forgot to back up.
Root and Brook just playing each ball on merit though Root has been dropped in the slips.
Big innings for Harry Brook not just for today which is a dead rubber but for the future after we touch the nadir.
As stated "play smarter not harder"1 -
87/3 15 overs
Root 29 Brook 17 50 partnership0 -
Brook has a Brook innings. Plays some unbelievable shots at time but you just know that his wicket is just around the corner. Out for 19 (29)
99-40 -
And now Root is cleaned up by Mulder for 37 (44)
103-50 -

99-4
Just in the last year because Harry Brook had an unbelievable start to his International career.
As we know with Charlton when things look bad you haven't always reached your nadir.
Unless both Buttler and Livingstone get big scores this will be a rout.1 -
Right that's enough of this shit.
Leaving now to go to Orient.1 -
