Yeah, I couldn't believe that. Is it my imagination or does the beer prices go up 20p every game. I know I have missed the last 4 games due to illness, but Jesus, first game back and the same beer I paid 4 different prices this season.0

I know it's convenient but there are places 5 mins away a lot cheaper than that. Only way to get the prices down is to seek an alternative.6

Asahi was definitely £7.40 in the fanzone.
Grolsch I think was £6.60 and Moretti was £7.20.
I don't know if they charge the same in the fans bar.0 -

I paid £6.60 for each of my 2 x pints of Meantime on Saturday, one of the best IPA's I've had.1

Fun fact - our customers are probably about 70% male, of all ages including pensioners !Our cocktails are also award winning, and as well as beating the long lines at the main bar, you could get a cocktail for as little as £4 if you buy one of our loyalty cards! Try us the next game you will not be disappointed !6

Is £7.40 really that expensive for a pint ? I get its slightly more expensive than a normal pub but its not ludicrously expensive.1

yes but Wetherspoons are an anomaly, they are known for particularly low prices so thats not a fair comparison, in the same way if I suggested central Stockholm or the O2 Arena where a beer can be upwards of £10 wouldn't be a fair comparison.valleynick66 said:

Which works. The price in venue doesn’t work to get anywhere near the volume of sales it could.But it’s also a price inflation you see on non alcoholic stuff too. It’s all overpriced and gives the impression of taking punters for mugs.If you come as the stereotype family of parents and kids you’d be mad not to bring your own refreshments.2 -
If you are desperate for a pint, there are plenty of pubs where you can arrange to meet up, and drink to your heart's content. Nobody is forcing you to drink in The Valley. I rarely do. If I want a pint, I'll go in The Bugle or The Anchor and Hope.Radostanradical said:

Part of the problem is you're paying over the odds for often crap beer and very slow staff. I don't think it's actually the staff's fault, as has been covered over and over they're agency staff learning on the job every time they work. Club would sell a lot more beer though if they priced it cheaper. Pretty sure at one point recently Anfield served a pint cheaper than the local pubs. Now that causes different issues around the local economy etc but there's no reason I should pay an extra £2 for poor service other than just convenience which doesn't seem worth £2 to me4
