Casting my mind back I was surprised that Anderson got the nod over Adigun. However he has progressed much better than I thought he would, and is an international footballer as well.
Karoy is so young, maybe when he gets the Barry Bannon level of experience we can see what a decent product of our academy he is.

Need to deliberately drop him on occasion for a few games.

Said it before but Jones seems to love him, and just knows when to utilise him from the start - Sounds like today was forced with Docherty injured, but Karoy himself always seems to come back into the starting eleven almost with a point to prove.

If he starts to find the consistency to stay there, then he could be some player.

A bit like the man he replaced, Docherty, it probably suits him better to be playing a bit deeper where he can press and intercept teams as they try to break out of defence and then play simple passes, focussing his forward contributions on getting into the box to augment our attack, rather than having to play higher and be a creative fulcrum.

Either way, today, he showed everyone the potential Jones sees in him and why Jones loves him. It’s his touch and passing that sometimes lets him down but it was on point today and if he can maintain that he’ll become a stalwart as long as Jones is here because he’s almost the perfect player for the way NJ sets his teams up.

I thought it showed what a difference it can make slotting into a team largely on form with a settled 11, formation and style of play. Agree playing deeper suits him and Docherty too.

    Was excellent today.

Shame about that header as the cross deserved a goal.
  • He has excellent today but the true test of development will be how he performs against a side that presses him when has the ball.  Today Exeter sat back and he had a ton of time with little pressure
  • Certainly gives us more ‘bite’ and terrier dog like tenacity

He did a lot of excellent work, has great stamina is fast and strong in the tackle. The attribute
that holds him back is his first and even second touch, if he improves that he will top player in this league and maybe the Championship.
  • Thought it was probably his best game for us, he looked much more comfortable in possession.

Excellent today but really should have scored from the 2 headers.
He broke up play all over the park and appeared to have more awareness than in previous performances.
  • Played well today but should have scored

Watching him play youth football, his first touch made him stand out from other players it was so good. What we are seeing is a young lad, coming in and making a difference then teams working out how to play against him and then him getting a feel for the level after taking a step back and being able to play his game at that level.

Squad player, nothing more, if this is is the limit of our ambition, we get all we deserve.

He's starting to look like the player who made such a positive impression when breaking into the side last season.

Weird to have joined in 2013 and this is the only post you feel you've needed to make in the past 12 years of hell.

I was a bit gutted Karoy was starting today. I ended up eating my words, best game he's had for us so far. Shame for him he didn't get that 2 yard open goal tap in header.

Saw his best today. Remember seeing him pre season last season thinking we’d got another gem. Think his confidence had been killed playing in struggling Charlton sides since and I’m guilty of writing him off. Good to see him play so well again

The bloke behind me has never been a fan but called Karoy motm today. I did later have a conversation with someone who could unbelievably only find fault. But that’s their problem. Karoy was superb today and if you can’t see that, I’m not sure what you were watching.

He was quality ran his socks off he may have alot of detractors but no one in that midfield has as much energy as Anderson and he's young and will improve just like tc

Although he didn't score from the chances he had, I was impressed he was even in that location on the pitch, as a lot of midfielders wouldn't put themselves in that position. He'll learn from it all and being motm yesterday will no doubt boost his confidence further.

    Likewise.
