England can't afford this pair to stay too long.
Short or Labuschagne need to go sharpish.

    94-2 off 14

Just can't see Australia not reaching the target unless we take 10 wickets.

If a wide is given, down the leg side, but the keeper appeals for a catch and, on review, it turns out the ball flicked a trouser leg...

1, Is the wide overturned? (I assume it is)

2, does the fielding team retain the review? (I assume not)
    Anyone know?

As Australia were, with Carse bowling currently bowling "throw downs" and going for 37 off 4 overs, we are going to be even more reliant on the part-time bowlers. Pace off might not be a bad thing though

    103-2 (15)

Our main tactics are pace on though...

Really good bowling from Livingstone and Rashid to restrict the run rate and the latter gets Labuschagne caught by Buttler for 47. 122-3 off 19.2

An absolute disgrace that the hosts Pakistan are effectively the away team.

Whilst i agree it's a farce, it's not as if no one knew this would happen when Pakistan were selected as hosts. India haven't played there since 2008, and when the Asia Cup was held there 2 years ago, India played their matches in Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh have, somehow, managed to make Michael Bracewell, a regimental off spinner, look unplayable. Bracewell finished with figures of 10-0-26-4. More than 65% of all balls to date have been dots and it's that inability to rotate that has caused the Bangladeshi batters to give their wickets up going for the big one.

    131-5 (30)

Carse is out of Wednesday's match against Afghanistan on Wednesday and is likely to be replaced by Overton. We might get away with that against them but I really wouldn't fancy 20 overs plus being bowled between Overton, who is injury prone himself, Livingstone and Root against South Africa on Saturday.

Bangladesh finish with an underwhelming 236-9. They completely lost their way and will have to bowl exceptionally well to get that win that will keep themselves in the competition. New Zealand will join India in the semis should they win.

NZ beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets with 23 balls to spare and join India in the semis.

Ravindra, with 112, became their third centurion in just the two matches NZ have played to date and Latham added 55 to his 118* in the first game. Their biggest issue appears to be how to fit into the side, the absent ill, Daryl Mitchell. A nice problem to have.

Out go the "hosts" Pakistan and also Bangladesh.
  • Has there been a match without a century? Feels like someone gets one every game.

England call in Rehan Ahmed to replace Carse , won't arrive in time for the Afghanistan game.

If he's been called up today, how on earth can he not get to Pakistan in 2 days time?

Mitchell in for one of the quick bowlers I'd say. They have so much decent spin in their side

I don't think that will happen as, apart from a token over here and there, Mitchell doesn't bowl these days in any form of the game. The likeliest thing to happen is that they leave the side as it is or drop Conway and move Ravindra back up to open.
